With Holder rested, Chase sick...Russell unavailable, Narine unavailable, Dwayne Bravo questionable....then the next in line would be Reifer/Cornall.
Both Reifer and Cornwall should be there in front Shepherd and Pierre.
Now if Chase sick then u cant question Pierre who is in the squad but an allrounder should have come in for Jason Holder

ODI Allrounder reserves

Chase & Paul are the 2 all rounders. Unfortunate that both fell sick at the same time. Shepherd isn't being picked to be an all rounder. More a lower order batsman who can wack it and provide good middle to death overs bowling. Not the same as playing as an all rounder. He good enough a batter to be your #8 but not #7.

Cornwall's inability to run quick singles maybe an issue batting at #6-7 because at that stage, teams are looking to double the score and that involves some hard running. If that wasn't the case, would easily 100% chose him over Pierre. So, yes, his cricket is better but the fitness maybe costly in this format. Just my gut feel.
Selectors need to get Sherfane Rutherford in the mix.. he's already in demand around the world
In the next couple years he gonna be a serious player.. and he's only 20

Word is Shurfane struggling to make 20 on the yoyo test. Hetmyer's score is around 50. That put things largely into perspective.
Walsh is now the allrounder

Could you please stop using allrounder to describe bit and pieces cricketers. Gary Sobers was an allrounder Paul is not. J Kallis was an allrounder Rutherford is not. Stokes is an allrounder Shepherd and Reifer are not.
Rovman Powell then Reifer and Cornwall.
Paul and Sheperd aren't allrounders.

I done sold on Rutherford since 2 years ago man, but them kinda fitness level won't cut it. Fitness will show you up in the longer format. Them 20 score is for people like Cornwall and them.
Windwards batsman Desron Maloney moved from 25 - 50 in a matter of 6 months so Rutherford can make it.

Being around ah team like MI might help him.. didn't even know them fellas does got camps in the off season.. no wonder de IPL standards higher than any other league
Hemraj is another one.. talented but struggling to reach 30 in the yoyo

And is not to say those guys big like Cornwall where you know it hard for them to make a rapid improvement. Rutherford can move from 20 to 40 in 6 months easy. He just gotta put in the work.
Rutherford bat swing is real fast. That's super talent. Don't know why he doesn't bowl more in caribbean competitions. His spot in T20 and ODI teams will be hinged on him playing more lower in the middle order so it will be expected that he can contribute overs. If not, then he has to make the team as a specialist batsman which will be tougher.

When last Shefine made 10 runs.
In reply to tc1
Who is Shefine? One of your Bajan friends?

Jason Holder is an All-Rounder

Thank you.
Rutherford still has to convince me that he belongs at international level. I would go with Fabian Allen before him for the lower order batsman who can bowl a bit (not allrounder! Agree with dclar301 on that)
