Stokes paused as he left the field following his dismissal and, in response to comments from a spectator, appeared to say: "Come say that to me outside the ground, you f***ing four-eyed c***.

highly unlikely the icc will do nothing.

he apologized and obliged a few fans with autographs so, in the eyes of the icc "he has righted his wrong" and should now be looking at a hefty [sic] fine of around 1.3% of his match fee - if fined at all.

he has been getting away with a lot of stuff so, don't be surprised when the media start plastering all over the pages, him making the rounds mingling with spectators and signing autographs to show that he is actually the brother of angel gabriel while yet another one of his transgressions is shoved under the rug.

when the story of him slapping his wife blew-up on him and images of the incident came to light, he put out on social media his own image of the two of them leaving the venue in their car but, not before slapping/boxing each other's face; as though to say, "this is how we play so, now you people mind your own business".

nearing the end of the wc final the ball deflected off his bat and went into the boundary for four. the english media reported that stokes approached the umpire and told him to reverse the decision and deduct the four runs given. in some corners of the media they made him appear to be cricket's mother theresa. days later, when asked, the umpire made it clear that there was no such discussion between himself and ben stokes.

the thing is; gayle only asked for a date with the female reporter and was painted to be this horrible horrible individual in the media and by many cricket fans, including west indians. some even advocated for him not to ever play cricket in australia again. up to this day you still see this incident coming up in discussions about chris gayle.

ben stokes who is regularly caught tangled-up in all forms of abuse and excesses is on the other hand glorified in the media and by some on this very forum. the women's rights activists and all the morality policemen have a completely different standard when it comes to him so, the incident where he was caught physically abusing his partner was quickly buried and covered-up.

had archer ran up to those fans who were hurling racial abuse towards him in new zealand recently and gave them a good cuss-out, you would have seen the rigamarole that would have started then. ben stokes is superman superhero so, he can face-off with spectators by hurling verbal abuse without fear of reprimand or consequences.

when his behavior gets really out of hand, you will hear how he was battling depression, how he couldn't cope because his father was hospitalized and a whole lot of other excuses.

I tend to side with you...but am hoping to hear of the proper reprimand, fines , fees and match bans to be laid out in 24 hours...

after all...RABADA got banned for exhuberance and apparently scaring a little pee out of Root as he screamed in delight at getting his wicket.
