Why is the BBC continuing to give this racist TV time? I woke up this morning, and turned on the news, to see this asshole polluting my screen.

Not watching the news today...

Milkshake him

Loved his exit. Showed exactly why the EU is a piece of crap which will be in a decade or so reduced to 10 Nations led by
Germany..a revival of the old Roman Empire that will give Britain and USA ,fits.

Britain should never have entered into this body that became unaccountable to no one and has no part of democracy.
Who elected this sour face woman that told the people to put away their flags. ?

Good on you Great Britain.Better late than never.

Racist pieces of shit have their fans too. What can you do, eh?

I used to live in England in the late 90s and have been going back often for variety of reasons, including visiting family. I don't know, but I had a chance to live there and am glad every day that I chose not to. I don't know how allyuh manage living in that dirty, polluted place. Di money nice or something? big grin

I wish the money was nice!

When we moved here in 2001, it wasn't a bad place to live. Now it is a bad place to live.

It has its plusses...my kids had a very well-rounded education, which they might not have received in Jamaica. Would my son have gone astray in Jamaica, like so many young men? I don't know. As it is, my son got his 2:1 university degree, and is now living in Japan, teaching English, marrying his Japanese girlfriend, and is very happy.

It has its minuses. Because of the overt and covert racism, my daughter has struggled with mental health issues - like so many people of Caribbean descent in this country. She seems to have overcome them, and is currently throwing herself whole-heartedly into the anti-racism fight.

I'm too old to fight these racist white people. This year, I'm moving back to Jamaica. Career-wise, moving to the UK was a bad move for me, though it was good for my wife. These are the breaks...I'm not bitter about it.

I'm tired of the racism and the bad weather, and looking forward to enjoying the autumn of my years in the sun, surrounded by people who are not white.
cool

I am touched by your experience in Britain and I share much the same experience and sentiments on this side of the pond,in the USA.
The main reward for me was the to see my children accomplish much..the youngest, a girl of 31 come June, is a Professor at Texas Tech as well as Assistant AD there.
Like you in England , the USA for me was a good place to live..still is in many ways but this is White man's country so learned early to live with a cockeye and use my resilience as us Jamaicans are known for to live with and overcome as best we can the overt and covert racism because we know that racism is a given.
The USA is not the same as it was in 70s when I first came here and it is not going to get better.
Even some Born Americans whom I associate with cannot believe how different the country is and has become.
From time to time till the 90s I wanted to return to Jamaica but on each visit ,I saw the country rotting away ..particularly a poor health system compared to the n70s and crime.
While I can deal with the crime, as I grew older, health care is my main concern.Hence I liquidated all I had there and commit to the USA where I
am more comfortable with the health services.
So I wish you you all the best if and when you return as that Little Rock is still the best place although it is not the paradise it once was.
I spread my bed here and am laying in it..but my children are happy and have many choices, so things have worked out after all.
Regrets ?I have a few but seeing my kids, now grown adults doing well is a precious reward and feeling. The future is theirs, not the old coot's.

Yes parts of London could be termed dirty, but England is still the greatest country in the world to live in.I know many Caribbean people who have gone from the "ridiculous to the sublime", all because of education.I live in Twickenham,it's a very clean place. There's racism everywhere in Europe with right wing groups springing up in every country. We officially came out of Europe last night, yuh hear how Europeans crying, they are deeply hurt.I would like Jah Jah to know England is the place everybody wants to come, and London is the greatest city in the whole world.
Me seh so!

I am the only member of my immediate family who remained the Caribbean.
It was the best decision of my life.

I never wanted to live in a society where it was clear as day that many of the people hate people looking like me.

I don't pretend too well.
I remember shopping in Macy's on 34th St decades ago when this white clerk thought she could take upon herself to touch my hair - She saw my face and asked me if she could touch my hair - I told her only if she didn't want me to slap the shit out of her.

I never liked any of those countries - not one and I traveled extensively. I am Caribbean through and through and never wanted to be anyone else.

My three favourite places on earth are Guyana, Jamaica and T&T. Cuba is a beautiful island but given my socialization I could n't live there.

Freddy Hickling did a major study and discovered that Caribbean peeps of all classes' mental health deteriorates when they migrate to white countries while white people of all classes' mental health improves when they migrate to the Caribbean.

Better allyuh than me.

Well Chrissy I never wanted to leave TT,but it wasn't up to me,I always thought I would spend my last years in TT,but no matter where I live I would be a target for robbery and maybe murder.I feel 90%safe in many parts of London,Manchester or Birmingham,Cornwall,Surrey and Sussex, some of the places I have realatives and very close to me at that.I'll be stupid to say I haven't suffered racism but nothing I couldn't deal with.Is everybody in TT murders,no but you can still be shot and killed for your money and gold, same in England, not everybody are racist but you can still suffer racism,it is usually covert very rear overt, but we know it when we are confronted.I would rather live in this whiteman land than Trinidad.

There is of course another alternative. That is to live in the diaspora and also in the Caribbean. I retired in 2006, since then I spend about 5 months of the year in Ja and 7 months in Canada. I maintain homes in both countries -mortgage free, fully furnished, motor vehicles and other conveniences etc. I have one daughter living in Atlanta, another living in London Ontario, 3 grand sons. Still have 2 brothers in Jamaica, nuff nieces, nephews and countless cousins. Visit England on and off, was over there 2 years ago to deliver my aunt's eulogy. Have nuff cousins and old friends living there. I don't find England dirty, I find it very crowded.

I am 76 years old my wife is 72.At this stage we both are making full use of the Canadian health care system. Had a wonderful year as president of London's largest Kiwanis club, was in Mo bay in 1918 attending the Eastern Canada and Caribbean convention and in Stratford in 1919 attending the same convention. Gives me a chance to meet people from all over the Caribbean. At our age, We would not return to Ja full time. I enjoy day time Jamaica to the max. I have come to accept my night time prisoner status, no real big thing.
