Barbados lose two more wickets - not good.

To say he is struggling would be the understatement of the year. His lack of runs puts the selectors in a very tough spot. On the one hand, he is the most experienced Test opener in the region who has had success in England, but it would require a tremendous leap of faith to think he is going to suddenly come good at the highest level. Tough call to England because it is virtually impossible to come up with three candidates to take ahead of him. My gut feeling tells me he goes to England.
Stoute & Myers build partnership.

As a fan, I would like him to get help.
I have been asking him, to thank the people that bring him so far, and get a new team around him.

Myers umpteenth half century puts
Barbados on top.

ha ha ha ha hah.

Kyle was a contracted Windward Island player, this is his second ton against them this season.

I said it last season and I will repeat it again, our cricketers do not work hard enough. The fact that none of the test batsmen is dominating the regional tournament is a testament to that. Our results will never improve until that change, especially in test cricket.
In reply to methodic
Cricket is a professional sport, we still treat it like bat and ball on a road in any of the region street.
I cannot understand why players dont treat it as a profession.
Hearing about Jerry Rice training in the off season, Vijay Singh hitting balls for 8 hours daily, Viv paying guys to bowl to him after the County season, reading about Kohli training routine, we let our players off the hook.
We need coaches who can work to make players better, instead of trying to developing a group of Robots.

Warrican is bowled.
Myers goes CT at gulley at 140.
In reply to Yadi
Nice big hundred. Way to go Kyle Mayers.
In reply to NYCGURU
CT Hodge bowled Thomas.
Why is the Kensington Oval pitch looking like this? Patches of grass, then bare patches. Is this our way of helping fast bowlers? All dat does is cause uneven bounce and give fast bowlers a false sense of dere worth.

Windwards make a solid reply.
Windwards 143 for 2.
In reply to NYCGURU
2 fih 1 territory?
In reply to Yadi
Have no interest in the outcome, but rooting for Holder to book a passage for England in the summer.
In reply to NYCGURU
Passage already booked.
In reply to Maispwi
That cheap camera makes the grass look a lot more uneven than it actually is.
It's better than batting on those roads in the other game, just look at them on the streams. Not a blade of grass.
In reply to Yadi
Another fifty to Kyle Mayer's.
In reply to Yadi
This is the first Barbados batsman, that is ready for the shorter versions.
He can bat 40 overs, just saying.
In reply to openning
Looks good, but have to see him against tougher competition.

Mayers was a staple in cpl for zouks..I think
In reply to Larr Pullo
I believe he was the leading scorer for the Pride in the Regional Super 50, he got a ton in that series also.
In reply to FuzzyWuzzy
I am aware of him opening the bowling for Windwards.
Not being fit to bowl, he is showing that he can be a batting allrounder.
Jason Holder and him, should look at the role of Stokes, middle order batsman, who assist the bowlers.
In reply to openning
Yeah he definitely has a lot of promise.
Myers could be selected for the England tour coming up, he is the player of the season so far. It would be interesting to see him against more experience bowlers.
In List A and 20/20 Mayers can do it all...
Bowling...Open with swing bowling, bowl in the middle and one of the best at the death
Batting..Consolidate or Power Hit
THis tremendous season with the bat with an injured back unable to bowl makes you wonder whether he is still a bowling allrounder but a GENUINE allrounder.

Can he open the batting - that's where the vacancies are!

As a bajan you should know that Mayers was always a batsman first. Carried Alexandra School and more recently Carlton on his back for some time. When he played for Zouks and Windwards he was used as a bowling allrounder and batted low down the order.
Welcome to the party folks. Long time some of us cuss the selectors for folks like him and Justin Greaves.
Kyle has always been a batsman from U15 days and has alway had to shift his game around to accommodate other favored ones as is the nature of BIM cricket. The Windwards basically used him as a stop gap.
Him not bowling is almost the break through he needed. During the last domestic season he was far and away the MVP in the 20/20 competition opening the batting and bowling for eventual Champions Carlton and although he made limited appearances in the 3 day it was clear that he is now batting at a level above everyone in BIM bar none including the international players.
He can bat anywhere in the order because he does it season in season out in Club Cricket without fuss. This is a guy who made a World Cup U19 team of the tournament least we forget.
