Windies Women’s coach Gus Logie is a disappointed man after his side was unceremoniously ousted from the recently concluded ICC Women’s T20 World Cup but it isn’t because of the losses, it’s because he believes they can do better.

According to Logie, the West Indies Women are a much better batting team than they have proved so far.

“It's T20 cricket, you need to show courage, you need to show composure. If you are timid you are not going produce the kind of scores you want to produce and we've seen that with our batting, it's been pretty timid the whole series starting with the first game against Thailand when you have a score of 70-odd to get and it took 16 overs to get it,” said Logie, who watched as his side started with a seven-wicket win over Thailand before being blitzed by Pakistan and then England. Their final game against South Africa was abandoned on account of persistent showers.

In other words, Logie as Head Coach failed miserably.

Logie should stop all the bullshitting and look inwards. CWI should also move swiftly to replace him as Head Coach.

Urgent efforts should also be made to improve the technical competence of the players. It is sadly lacking.

CWI must demand accountability at all levels of the organization. Heads should roll for this intolerable level of poor performance.

Why should a team retrogress so badly in such a short space of time?

CWI should not accept his tour report and open its own investigation. Importantly, Logie should volunteer his resignation.

Come on Gus...you will blame the girls for lack of courage???? Before the tournament Anisa Mohammed was talking about taking revenge on OZ women..most of these women are not newbies....some were in a WC winning team....it seemed the team was pumped....what went wrong?

Coach Sherwyn Campbell was doing an excellent job but got into some trouble with one of the players and was sacked..

Old school coaching does not cut it in the modern cricket era .....

The best batsman on the team missed three consecutive cut shots to balls short and wide outside the off stump which less than average batters would put away. And to make matters, worse she kept on missing similar balls throughout the innings against lowly rated Thailand.

Doesn't this tell us something?

We need first class academies in all the territories.
