Saw him perform about 15 years ago in Ft Lauderdale. He had to be assisted on stage outfitted with his walking cane and everything.
The man did his songs then turned around and did 'his friend' Prince Buster's like they were his own.

Was it the same show he did along with the Melodians (before Brent Dowe's passing) and Eric Monte Morris? It it were, I didn't know you were there. I remember him talking about his recent album (mostly covers of his earlier tunes) done in Germany; he was surprised how well the Germans could imitate the Ska.

Happy Birthday Mr. Derrick "Be Still" Morgan. A true pioneer of popular Jamaican music. Was there from the early days.
The passing of Bob Andy reminds me that many of the singers who recorded in the 60s and early 70s are no longer with us. I don't recall Eric "Monty" Morris or Stranger Cole who are still with us, receiving any national honor. If this is so Minister Babsy please give the recognition while they are still with us. Derrick Harriott and Owen Gray also come to mind.
Not sure if Derrick Morgan has received any official recognition. Would be most surprising if he hasn't.
