Barbados, Jamaica and Bahamas added to EU money laundering blacklist; Guyana officially delisted

Guyanese cannot count, man ...
In reply to Norm
So how did Guyana get on the list in the first place?
In reply to Walco
No proof of counting skills back then.
Guyana's Math expertise is "Relations and Functions"
You know me? Relation
You get Minister Job! Function

Seriously though, Guyana will likely become a haven for money launderers once oil production gets in full swing. Lots of cash will be circulating so to speak
These foreign Regional Bodies are always checking on the small Nations to punish them for something, why do they not punish the more develop Nations that have money laundering as an industry, the rich Russians and Middle Eastern businessmen have been laundering their money in Manhattan NY by buying up condos from Trump and whoever else have ones for sale for years now.

The future of oil is one of the big uncertainties resulting from COVID-19. With telecommuting probably increasing significantly, it is hard to say what the future of oil will be.

we are partly poor because the rich nations for decades accommodate third world politicians and their stolen wealth.
Screw the EU.
Not a peep from them or their American cohorts when people are twisting funds around in Luxembourg, City of London, Delaware, Nevada or South Dakota.
In reply to camos
Very true, many of the Third World politicians have their stolen fund in the banks of Luxembourg and Switzerland, but no sanctions against them.
