Googley condolence on your mom's passing away
I understand that you are a (Hindu priest), pandit.
What does Hinduism teach about life after death? Most Hindus believe that humans are in a cycle of death and rebirth called samsara. When a person dies, their atman is reborn in a different body. Some believe rebirth happens directly at death, others believe that an atman may exist in other realms.
Nirvana is a place of perfect peace and happiness, like heaven. In Hinduism and Buddhism, nirvana is the highest state that someone can attain, a state of enlightenment, meaning a person's individual desires and suffering go away.

My brother......a QC old boy....a Guyana scholar...and now a full time Pandit in Florida...his 'calling' he says....Shiv and Amy's former Pandit in Orlando....has been performing almost weekly virtual religious wakes on facebook for deceased elderly Guyanese on this corona lockdown period....to date none from corona virus as far as I know
Googs....I know you are in Florida too ....I have to make contact with pandit...I am sure he knows your mom

A mom in the Hindu family is the glue that holds the family together. When the matriarch is gone, that vacant space can never be filled.It is very painful and lives with us forever .

My mom passed a little over 6 years ago on Christmas eve...biggest ice storm in Toronto....we lovingly say she went out with a bang

They say time is a great healer, on the occasion of losing a mom.It never heals.
I lost mine 15 years ago, 31st December. I dont look forward to that day anymore, I know how you feel.

Thank you everyone for your words of comfort. It is greatly appreciated. Unfortunately death is the ultimate truth that does not discriminate regardless if you are poor, rich, your skin color, social status in society, etc. The maker will call upon each one of us for sure. However, when mom goes it tugs on the heart just a little bit more.

Narps, funerals are challenging during this time, to put it mildly. However, I was able to visit her during her last moments while in Hospice and by all indications (so far) we will be attending the funeral in person plus family members in Canada, other US states, etc will be able to see it virtually.

My condolences. We have yet to bury my mom who passed away on April 27th, which is our anniversary to the U.S!
