The 23-year-old has played 20 One-Day Internationals (ODI) and 12 Twenty20 (T20) matches for West Indies, but while he made his debut in both formats back in 2018, he is yet to get a taste of Test match cricket.
“I definitely want to play Test cricket; I want to do well in all three formats,” he said during a recent interview after training at Sabina Park.
“Test cricket is really the ultimate that everyone wants to play to be great. You don't want to just be an average cricketer; you want to be among the greats,” Thomas added.

A very interesting situation is resurfacing in Caribbean cricket.
A large number of cricketers are rising to the top but just under the standard of international cricket. The CWI administration seems incapable of facilitating the transition. Consequently these talented players are left to flounder and later lose their way without ever fulfilling their true potential. Most other nations would have fast tracked Thomas into the Test team. His pace is unquestionable. His effort is obvious. His physical stature is imposing. He is relatively young. He consistently troubles established international batsmen.
How do we get consistency without consistency?? Please CWI, do not let him wither on the vine. I like Chamar Holder but he is no Oshane Thomas.

Lemme explain something.
BASKETBALL= YOU CANT TEACH HEIGHT AND WEIGHT
CRICKET=YOU CANT TEACH PACE
What Oshane needs is to build up his LEGS.
It is your legs that allow you to bowl 3 spells a day with the 3rd one after tea at 90MPH.
His upper body strength allows him to bowl 4 very fast overs at the beginning
His LEGS is his weakness.

Chemar Holder ( and Harding) is one of the fittest fast bowlers in the region.
Whether he will be more effective than Oshane Thomas is questionable.
But is clear from many observers that Oshane's ability to bowl top pace for 20 overs a day is questionable.
Oshane right now is the ODI choice....he cant be too far from a test pick.

I would like to see a bowling attack consists of either 1.Gabriel, Roach, Joseph and Holder or
2. Roach, Gabriel, Thomas and Holder or
3. Roach, Thomas, Joseph and Holder.
