HEADLINE: Shane Dowrich: I'm a different player to three years ago

When West Indies last toured England in 2017, Shane Dowrich averaged 4.80. He struggled to adapt to the conditions, both with the bat and behind the stumps, and many onlookers surmised that Denesh Ramdin's return to the Test set-up could not come soon enough.

But since that tour, Dowrich has turned things around. He is now one of the first names on Jason Holder's team sheet, and can lay claim to being one of the best wicketkeeper-batsman in the world: since the start of 2018, no keeper has score more Test runs at a better average.

"I consider myself a different player to what I was three years ago," Dowrich said from Emirates Old Trafford, where West Indies have now been based for the best part of two weeks. "The last time I was here, it was very tough for me - it was a series that really changed around my career.

on a technical level, dowrich is the best WK-batsman since dujon. I remember as early as the 2012 ct20, ganga said he would represent the west indies. granted, his intro was not the smoothest, and his early introduction caused him a baptism by fire which was totally unnecessary, and which culd have destroyed his career, if he was not mentally a very tough cricketer, he has done exceptionally well since 2018.

Sorry. I thought you were talking about my last post.My stat showed 3 frontline batsmen all averaging under 25 in the last 2 years. That is quite disturbing and most people seem to be ignoring that.Focusing on Dowrich averaging higher than the other wicketkeepers around the world does not seem to me to be as important as 3 of our most experienced batsmen failing miserably.I may be wrong but I don't think so!!!!!!!

Dow could make this team as a batsman, that is how good he is.

Dow has suffered from not playing primarily as a batsman and not getting odi exposure
