What do selectors see as the calibre in John as a batsman? Please advise me for those who have seen him bat a lot.
He seems to be walking wicket even when playing for Jamaica!
Please someone awaken me from my confusion about Campbell as a batsman.

Sincere question about John Campbell
In reply to solidrock
I have never been convinced about him but who are our other options
Maybe, Mosley and Tage have been making some runs. DaSilva seems he will bat at any position to show the world how good he is!Campbell does not seem to know how to make more than "20 runs" often.

Tage....

One of the big bats.. sure he gonna come good in the second innings
Honestly I expect more runs from Roach and the other bowlers than some of the big bats in the top 4-5
In reply to solidrock
Him not as lucky as AlJo. The Pommies reviewed JC's LBW appeal but not AlJo's.
In reply to solidrock
I actually like John.
He is coachable...and yes...still working things out.
I will keep him around...
My turn...
Who is gonna Open in his stead for you?
I remember raymon reifer opening in FC cricket. Can he come in and give a bowling option too? I am sure reifer cannot be worse than Campbell.
If reifer can open and conwall replace one of the quicks we should have dece t bowling attack and deeper batting
have you noticed John Campbell looks quite composed and easy on the eye when batting I for one can't understand how he gets out so cheaply frequently when looking so
In reply to Pacysounds like video game cricket...I'm sure you weren't serious. Reifer as an opener
In reply to anadayardi
Ah think the man serious
Cornwall don't need to replace any of the fast bowlers.. WI should be playying 5 frontline bowlers from the inception. De sooner the selectors get that in their heads the better.
Plus on a side note I think it's unfair to drop Campbell and still keep Hope.. Hope averaging less that 20 for the past 3yrs now.
In reply to solidrock
TANGERINE CHANDERPAUL for sure.
I like Campbell and I hope he comes good. Sometimes a batsman just needs a bit of luck and one major innings to get his runs production at a reasonable and consistent level.
In reply to solidrock
From a management perspective, I'd have rested Campbell, promote Hope and add Joshua to the starting roster.
He's probably not even fully recovered from his injury.
In reply to Yadi
That would be laughable, Tage is behind almost every other opener in the WI, for example these guy would get a game before him, Powell, Moseley, Solozano, Dasilva, Ambris, even though some of them are not openers. Tage is not even a decent F/C batsman.
In reply to dayne
Imagine KB and Tage opening together...coma test not covid
Rage Chanderpaul's name does belong in this convos
In any case imagine two crabbies at the top for WI. That would be the day
In reply to InHindsight
Why?
to much soft dismissals the man keep getting out to easy
In reply to Raggs
Here thinking the same thing.

Seems is a Yaad thing.

In reply to Cricket_101Hope is failing in test cricket and you want to promote him? Hope is living off those 2 hundreds that came in the same test. If we really love Hope that much that we don't want to drop him then move him down the order. We all would love to see him succeed but his white ball numbers don't carry over in test cricket.
In reply to anadayardi
Id promote him for this series. Its only 3 matches if i recall. Campbell has an asterisk on head as a test player and should be benched; and adding injury to the equation makes a stronger case for Joshua to debut.

How many cricketers at the FC level average in the 40s?
This experiment will be over soon
In reply to natty_forever
Not a stats guru... But he seems to avg 30. Whats Tage avg.
Hola...as long as Braithwaite continues to open batting for West Indies every partner he pairs with will fail...
Braithwaite is the issue...he does not instill confidence in his partner...
Braithwaite needs to be ignored if WI is to progress and give others a good look in.
Campbell unfortunately is paired with a lame duck..
If you standing at the other end and watch your partner Braithwaite batting ....one would think the bowling is always on top and drives fear into you..
Braithwaite is the problem
Adios
CB
Campbell appears to be someone who needs to put more thought in his game, that might come with more match experience, in the gone by days someone like him would have played a season in England to straighten his game out.
The best opener in West Indies cricket, bar none, is Evin Lewis
In reply to Oilah
They'll definitely test bowlers mental toughness

Where is Brandon King, Keiran Powell and Chanderpaul Hemraj
