Windies pay back US$3m to ECB
Cricket West Indies (CWI) has come good on their promise and has repaid the England Cricket Board (ECB) the US$3M (TT$20.2m) loan that the organisation got in May to help settle players' outstanding salaries.
This was revealed by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of CWI Johnny Grave in an interview with Guardian Media Sports yesterday.
According to Grave: "We have received our US$7M from the International Cricket Council (ICC) as our normal revenue share which each board member gets and the ECB has been paid off."

Good, now we have US$4m left to 'play' with.
I wonder though, whether losing the recent 2nd test was in some way a part of the payback.

Playing the un-going series was part of the deal. Many cricket connected bodies needed the series to be played in order for them to pay some of their bills.

The way the world is starved for cricket , I can't understand how CWI could take a team to England and pay them half price?

I do not know if they were in a strong position to bargain for more when they were millions of Dollars in debt, a drowning man grab at straws. From what I read they had to lay off many of their supporting staff.

i agree, and I do think we get some extra cash
The tv rights for this series is $20 mil per match, think I heard or might of been 2 mill, nah 20 lol
so we get some extra, plus Lifebouy, Phizz and some rum come on board, yea some extra money there, they not telling us. But I not mad
Glad we paid off the ECB n we gonna go back home wid we trophy too
