Raggs 2020-07-26 13:50:41

whoever negotiate this needs to be sacked or resign. We cut a business transaction to hand back the Wisden Trophy to England.

Skerritt is an ECB agent, he not interested in the advancement of West Indies cricket!

cricketest 2020-07-26 14:21:06

what else yall expect from a management that signed a 20yr contract?

dayne 2020-07-26 15:07:47

When lack of money is the issue, many arrangements will be made, many contracts will be sign just to get the hands on the money, Skerritt was in a bad situation, I understand why he okayed the tour. However it shows that the WI players still have a lot of deficiencies, the coaches also have to do a better job mentally preparing the players.

they receive US$7 million from ICC recently , now if you have that money coming, why can't you go to a bank and get a line of credit?

If West Indies were a worthwhile team this wouldn't be an issue much less a conversation....

So now you all questioning the need for the tour? Not before the tour? Not after the first test?

Compare the opposition to that tour—in the midst of a pandemic and with key players declining to take part—with the opposition to the tour that Hunte arranged.

The reasons for the tour are the same. The difference?

I for the longest time had a one man campaign against the tour, I said if we got extra money to tour Pakistan, people should not be going to England for half price!

There is an article posted on this website that explained how and why the tour was okayed, under the heading " CWI repaid the 3 million Dollars to the ECB ". In order for the CWI to get that 3 million Dollars loan to pay their players money owed to them from previous tournaments the CWI had to agree to do the tour. So Skerritt was trying to fulfill his obligations to the players that's why he did not wait for the money to come in from the ICC.

It’s remarkable to see the lengths you guys go to explain away every bullshit decision that Skerritt makes.

Why is it BS? The world runs on the exchange of money, most of the WI players are professional cricketers who expect to be paid for their entertainment services and they want to be paid in a timely manner, Skerritt as President is handling that management of the players business, that's his duty.
