Dave Cameron’s vision for the future of cricket involves longer T20 seasons, fewer Test matches for weaker teams but more players earning decent livelihoods playing all over the globe.
The former president of Cricket West Indies is pushing this vision as he attempts to become the next Chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC), a platform that will provide him with the opportunity to create a more equitable environment in cricket globally.
“The IPL is way a more valuable product than the T20 World Cup. Let’s be very clear about that,” he said. “India will make a lot more money and so too the players. The players themselves would prefer would playing in IPL than the World Cup.
“A lot of T20 leagues need to run concurrently, which is not happening now. Everybody wants to not clash with the other guys. The IPL needs to happen alongside BPL, CPL and Big Bash and the best players will get picked in the best leagues."

Well I do not understand Cameron logic, I am of the opinion it is not in the best interest of the players or cricket if the T20 leagues are run at the same time, it would mean that the best players would gravitate to the League that pays the most and thus the other leagues will suffer for spectators and quality. Cameron just proved that he should not be the ICC Chairman.

Cameron is right to an extent,ICC enriching BCCI by giving them exclusive hold on a period of time. Look on the FIFA model, you have an 'international window' all big leagues close and release their international players.

interesting points , if we use football as the model though the game would change as we know it. In football the primary mode of operation is club ,, you then have small windows to play for your country.
If we head down this road West Indies would become the side show to the Tallawahs and maybe Players would be financially better off and the game would spread faster to all the countries that have been marginalized ?
Maybe this is the inevitable and we are just kicking the stone down the road ?
I would be sad to see this happen but maybe this is what happened in football as well ... I would have been too young to reflect on that , do we have any historians that can add to this ?

2 windows wud be needed. One for the Northern Hemisphere and another for the South. Even fitting one window in the North may be difficult cause the best time to play in England is not good for India and the Asian countries experiencing monsoon type conditions.
Unless Cameron is hoping to play in covered stadia, ah doh think he has thought this one out thoroughly
Also nothing changes. Countries with large populations and financial resources will still dominate just as they do now. Who do you think wud draw larger sponsorship and viewership between de CPL and IPL if run concurrently?
