The blood drenched history of the Catholic Church is well known, now they are at it again. From time to time, Church leaders have tried to interfere and at time use strong arm tactic to muscle the government of the day to give them money, pass legislation to support their faith and at other issues they feel can threaten their separation of church and state.
They have pushed back against civil right laws that protect Trinis against discrimination based on sexual orientation for example.
Now, they are waging a war trying to legalize Venezes illegal entry into the country- they know overnight they can increase church numbers if these migrants become permanent residents and then citizens. Once they vote, the Church will then be able to influence politicians and even win elections.
They are not afraid to spread lies to further their goals as the false claim in the article

Tucupita-based media company Tane Tanae on Tuesday reported a historical connection between the Delta Amacuro State and TT since this country’s first colonisers (Spanish) until last colonisers (British).
Hundreds of Trinidadians reached the jungles of the Orinoco Delta Amacuro when they fled from slavery, the report said.

The Archbishop is a dam crook.Its alleged he hit a choirboy in Barbados , the case was dropped. Rome apologized for words he uttered about a small island Prime Minister.
