Marshall out of contract

Opening batsman and former West Indie international Xavier Marshall is the highest profile casualty from USA Cricket’s newly announced list of central contracts, which are only guaranteed through the end of 2020 instead of a 12-month basis as part of a number of severe cost-cutting measures resulting from the Covid- 19 pandemic. According to multiple sources, the remaining eight players have all been given a flat $1800 a month salary, which is a 60-75% pay cut for most players compared to their original contracts from July 2019.

Probably going to mean qualifying for the next World Cup is make-and-break as far as a lot of these players are concerned if they want to extend their pro careers?
