Former West Indies and Barbados batsman, Philo Wallace, believes the combative leadership style of former CWI president Dave Cameron means he will never get the support of the current board, in his bid for ICC Chairman.

Cameron has written to CWI, seeking its nomination to stay in contention for the position.  The former CWI boss had already received the nomination of The United States Cricket Hall of Fame for the post.

The Cricket West Indies (CWI) board is, however, yet to decide on backing its former chairman, with current vice-president Dr. Kishore Shallow suggesting the body’s support for Cameron would be unlikely.  Nor does Wallace, for that matter, believe it should be expected, based on the often-stormy tenure of Cameron’s presidency.

“I think it is going to be difficult for Cricket West Indies to support Dave Cameron in his bid to be ICC Chairman.  First of all, there is animosity between Cricket West Indies and Dave Cameron.  Those who are members or directors of Cricket West Indies will say there is, and he will find it very hard to get their support,” Wallace told the Mason and Guest radio program.

CWI will endorse Cameron for ICC President and then the Biden Administration will endorse Former President Trump for a " NOBLE" Peace Prize

.....so could most of the so-called cricketers now "playing" for the West Indies.

Not that I think he would get it but I am wondering why West Indians would not support another Windian to head the ICC, given the issues you all complain about at the ICC.

agree you support a regional candidate, just like when a UN or any other international job comes up. BTW ,the last bio Cameron put out when he was running for CWI head, said he owns an Investment bank, he does not want to spend time running and building that?

There is no West Indian of the current lot you would put there that would put CWI above all else,I remember Hunte saying on some crucial ICC vote that "he could not vote against England". Remember Cameron voted against the CWI interest to scrap the ICC tour schedule?

How would the present Board of CWI justify nominating Dave Cameron for ICC presidency when the same Board is of the view that Dave Cameron is unfit to be president of CWI. If he is unfit to lead CWI then how on earth could he be fit to lead the ICC?

This has nothing to do with insularity but rather reality. Cameron has demonstrated he's no good for cricket because he puts himself first and cricket second. It's all about him not cricket.
