Did the same West Indian Fans on this MB cause an uproar when they decided to play test cricket for England?

Did anyone back then wanted to break their legs?

I do not agree with the violence and vitriol surrounding Archer. However, please note that the three former players you mentioned, did not go through our youth system before taking their talents to England.

Yes, and I don't think any of them blamed the west indies cricket selectors for their decision to play for England.

I hear Small went to cawmere with David, bowl medium pace, was from Sweet Bottom, emigrated to England so I figure it was you, as Powen too short to bowl medium and never left Bim .

gordon greenidge could have just as played for england too instead of wi if he wanted ,i don't have a problem with archer but the whole situation was poaching by the english and that ridiculous excuse by archer why he choose to play for england ticked me off at the time

I too at first was not happy about Archer's decision, but I believe the guy did what he felt was best for his career and there is no guarantee that he would have become the cricketer that he is today, because the truth is I have seen so many exciting young cricketers fall by the wayside due to the WICB mismanagement and so Archer is in large part a product of the English system.
Also poaching talent is what England does they poached Eoin Morgan right out of Ireland and Stokes out of New Zealand and I dont hear the Irish or the Kiwis wishing bad for those guys.

If this was back in the 80s early 90s we would not care. Is because we now desparate. Is we produce Archer, we can do it again.

what rubbish......those guys had no chance of breaking into the west indies team then. Nobody would have been upset with them if they had moved to england to seek greener pastures. Besides, they were more english than wst indian, with the exception of Malcolm, who moved to england when he was 16 to finish high school, small moved when he was 14 and attended an english universitty

The reason nobody complained in Ireland about Morgan moving is because at the time ireland was not a test playing nation and England promised him that. Of course in typical fashion that did not last long and his career wend back to a white ball one. Very lucrative for both.
