In reply to sgtdjonesWell now we know why he would never play for West Indies again. Why risk being called for a suspect action and being banned from bowling in the IPL.

Hety not West Indian?
The quoted article acknowledged Hetmyer as another West Indian playing in the IPL but noted there was no salary info given for him.
The article didn't mention Cottrel nor Thomas however.

Guess Solja and Hety playing in another league
I'm sure Russell and Pollard getting more than that.. everytime a franchise retain a player I think they renegotiate the contract.. so chances are that those guys getting way more.. even Narine

This is a reduced salary agreement owing to C19 in India.
Narine contact is 2.1 million US per season in India.

That's the problem with cricket. Usually in sports an athlete strives to play at the highest level for the money and prestige. In cricket a player can turn his back on Tests and make more money playing 20/20.

I do not know the answer to your question. But what I do know is the reason most athletes strive to play at the highest level in their sport is because that's where they can make the most money.
