There's a truly classic cricket clip on you tube and in the West Indies documentary "Fire In Babylon"
It's Michael Holding steaming into Brian Close and producing death provoking fast bowling.
I just check the scorecard for that test match. Wayne Daniels gets Brian Close wicket in the first innings cheaply and Andy Robert dismisses him in the second after a opening stand of 50 runs in fact bowling figures in that second innings Roberts 20 overs 6/37 and Michael Holding 23 overs 2/24.
In both innings Holding never truly sent him that tough Yorkshire man packing though we are to believe the opposite
Legend and Myths are such a beast which can run away and make its own history.

The Myths In Cricket
In reply to Raggs
Holding vs Close was about a young, ruthless, hostile fast bowler against a tough, stubborn, veteran batsman.
Brian Close was 45 years old and probably shouldn't have been facing Michael Holding's 90 mph thunderbolts with no helmet or chest guard.
But Close stood his ground and wouldn't give an inch and this infuriated Holding who attacked Close's body with the ferocity of Joe Frazier.
However, Close took the blows and didn't rub making Holding even angrier.
One vicious blow to the body caused Close's knees to buckle and he staggered about the crease but refused to go down.
The Press criticised Holding relentlessly but commentator Freddie Trueman felt it was all part of the game.

there are many myths surrounding the 80s team. Holding never bowled short of a length balls to close. Holding bowled most of his balls t a good length. The pitch was awful and dry and they exploded off the pitch. Not holding's fault. Secondly, that the WI bowlers bowle a huge amount of bouncers. Not true either. WI Bowled most of their balls at the body( of which you can still bowl six balls).....one english batsmen after a day's play had bruises on his stomach, under his heart or a broken hand, places like that. You can list on your fingers the batsmen who suffered head injuries from the WI pacers, none of them life threatening

I agree..

Another myth. You need to play regional 4 day cricket to be successful in test cricket
The clip has Collis King at first slip diving for cover as the ball thundered into Murray's gloves?
Where's Clive Lloyd? Wasn't that his captured position in the field?
