HEADLINE: Statue of cricket great Sir Wes Hall unveiled at Kensington Oval

A stature of Barbados and West Indies iconic fast bowler Sir Wes Hall was unveiled at Kensington Oval on Sunday night on the eve of the country’s 54th year of independence.
The eight-foot tall statue created by 42-year-old fine artist Jason Hope was erected next to that of another Barbados and West Indies legend, Sir Garry Sobers.
The statue was unveiled by Barbados Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley during a ceremony attended by about 200 persons from Barbadian society including retired cricketers Ian Bradshaw, Vasbert Drakes, and Floyd Reifer as well as Barbados Cricket Association President Conde Riley and Roland Butcher.
Sir Wesley Hall’s children, Dr Kerry Hall, Sean Hall and Remi Hall were also in attendance.
“I want on behalf of the Government and the people of Barbados to salute you and to say to all of the others who helped to create that moment, that we will do all in our power as a government to continue to ensure that you will not only be honoured but that the legends of Barbados will not just remain as a cricketing legacy,” Prime Minister Mottley said.

Saw it last night, Wes is a comic.
He batted at X1 and was mad, because Lance batted a head of him, batting with Sir Frank in India, he was on 95, his a beautiful stroke run cross by frank and raise his at, Frank asked him what is that for, he sad to frank, you know they are four W's, Weekes, Worrell, Walcott and Wes, Frank declared immediately before he could score a ton.
He ribbed his good friends Gary and his brother Charlie during his speech.
Sudden would had related to him speaking about Cawmere, his first day there student had to say their name and the school attended, when it was Wes turn, he said Wesley Hall, the teacher said him, I asked for your name first, then the school.
Wes responded Wesley Hall, he was taken to the Office and given six lashes for not following orders.
Wesley Hall is a Primary School in Barbados.

One of the greatest story tellers you can come across. Bare lies / tall tales the man does tell. And he makes them sounds real good too. The Wes Hall primary school and his name story is one of that every Cawmerian has heard.
