Dowrich look like a shopkeeper pardnah of mine...
In reply to voiceofreason
He is, but Jason is his buddy.
His body was not even behind the ball, neither was his gloves together to catch the ball.
Replace Dowrich with Pooran.
In reply to Seechy
That would be an excellent replacement.
Any experience wicketkeeper, would setup in a position, that he can move left to right, and get in position.
His hands was not in position to catch the ball, and he is wearing gloves.

Pooran made 46 in the first innings of the WI-A match, batting at number 3. He is also donning the gloves.
In reply to Seechy
That show us that Pooran wants to play all formats.
One of the problem with the tournament, most of the guys last game was in England.
As for the players from Barbados, Kraigg and Mayers played about 8-9 matches for their club, before taking a plane to NZ.
I believe Jason played one club match before joining the Ipl, these are cricketer that want to work on their game.
The only cricket Kemar plays is for Barbados and West Indies, he is too big to play club cricket.
Dowrich has had an awful day, but he'll be fine. His batting has generally been good, so I hope his poor keeping doesn't dent his confidence with the bat.
Pooran breathing down his neck for the keeping slot. The funny thing is both can make the team as pure batsmen.

Dude if Dowrich understood the art of wicketkeeping, he would had stand a few steps back, where he could gather the ball.
I have spoken about his keeping before, and he has not learn the art of Wicketkeeping.
All he had to do is watch video of Dujon, keeping to fast bowling.
He was not in line to gather balls, very poor for an International player.

He should watch the door slam
Dowrich is more a batsman that can keep than a wicketkeeper that can bat, if he keeps on looking as bad as he looked in England behind the stumps and in front of the stumps his position might be up for grabs.

If he is a batsman more than a keeper then why the heck is he still wearing maroon?? He has been found out to be at best an avarage batsman, impotent to the bouncing ball and certainly behind many in the Caribbean as a keeper. In as much as I like him as a person, he should not under these circumstances be our number one keeper. What logical argument can anyone put forward justifying him playing ahead of Pooran?
In reply to brians_da_best I used to rate Dowrich as a batsman but after seeing him running after Archer worked him over it was awful...Wait till Wagner gets a shot at him and you will see what I mean.

I cannot understand why he did not stand a few steps back, which would had given him more time, to get behind the ball. Not only was he grabbing at balls away from his body, he was only dropping balls coming towards him.
It was an awful display of wicketkeeping.
Pooran can help the team more in the outfield than being bogged down behind the stumps ....

You are late to the party. He does have some ability with the bat, but he can be ruffled by the quick stuff.I saw him up against Leverage when they played Jamaica a few years ago, the same thing happened as he surrendered meekly by backing away and playing a premeditated slog and getting out.I pointed this out, and one of his fan boys went to great lenghts claiming he was making room to play an inside out drive.
