This is poor , poor WI team. It is my allegiance to my homeland that I am watching this team display.
Simple catches being floored. Poor technique in going for the ball to scoop it up is pathetic at this level.
Is this the best bowling coach WI has? Then expect us to drop further down the order.
Simmons need to take some stick for his support staff.
He as head coach is responsible for the performance on the field .What we are witnessing here is an unprofessional bunch ,unprepared to face the high quality of the NZ squad.
No thought in the bowling, no plan for each batsman. Wagner and the lower order are like T20 players. Short or full is wood. WI bowlers feeding them just that.
Shame on CWI for putting this shambles of a WEST INDIES team on the field.
All of you need to be fired or resign.

I am just watching the game. NZ is a well oiled machine. We are still trying to find an x1 to put on the field.
We are far away from a "team" worth competing.
CWI need to make hard choices not based on island or friendships but hard. hard decisions on player development, 365 day training center FOR PROSPECTS WHO will be willing to live on campus for at least 1 year to study the game and history as well as develop their skills.
Sure some will peter out but others will pop up.
This could be a permanent thing to develop our players.
This habit of getting a squad 1 week before a tour and expect them to judge a catch and take it. Bat for an hour or 5 and develop the finer "art" of the game does not happen overnight.
CWI gets enough funding from the ICC to do this. Cameron I think did a lot of harm to the development of our game.
It is this administration that need to sit after this tour and make some real hard decisions.
For one Jason as captain needs to be looked at. We need aggression not passiveness. We need a skipper who is not afraid to admonish a player for playing under par.
I like Pollard because he fields in a position where he can converse with his bowler while walking to his mark. Jason just stands there. Pollard on the other hand talks and talks .That I like.
Yes he has not played 4 day cricket but it is because of the Cameron era. He and other players were demonized. Now is the time under this new admin to revamp our cricket.
CWI need to fine member states if they do not prepare good cricket pitches.
Sabina and Bridgetown were fast pitches with bounce. What happened to them? QPO was a mix. You got what you put in. Guyana is now a better pitch. I would not play in either Antigua or St Lucia if they do not relay their pitches to get results.
This is just a start.

I do not know the local coaches since I do not live there anymore for awhile.
However if the local stock is not good enough or thinkers outside the box then bring in outside coaches.
Our cricket needs a major upheaval.
US will overtake us if we are not careful. They are putting money into cricket.
We need corporate West Indies and the individual Governments to step up and invest in the kids in each territory.

ICC alone cannot fund our development. We need administrators with a drive and will to get us going.
