Cricket And Its Non Substitute Rubbish

Sri Lanka on top in this test match but currently within the game suffered two injuries to their team. One is a batsman and the other a bowler so they will be forced to play out the game with 9 men giving the opposition the chance to win the test match because of this.
Does this make sense to anyone?

Pollock has a point. Cricket should consider a substitute for an injury like this.

Dhananjaya out.
Rajitha out.

Did not hear what he said but during the New Zealand test, I said the the ICC should allow a substitute batsman for injuries during the game. To me, it was really unfair to ask a team to play one batsman short for both innings. It is different for bowling in that a team would have multiple options.

Didn’t Laubaschagne sub for Steve Smith in England?

Has to be a concussion, for player to replace another during a match.

Didn't Blackwood resume his career as a concussion sub?

Cricket only allows concussion substitutes. I think it should be extended to all injuries that occurred during the game

It is good to see players being interview live, during water-breaks, lunch, tea and close of play, during a test match.

If I recall this rightly, Blackwood was the first cricketing sub ...could be wrong

If they the ICC are concerned about players faking injuries and such the answer to that is simple. No substitutes will be allowed until both first innings are completed then in the second innings or the second part of the game both sides are allowed 2 changes to their line- ups.
So as in all sports it can be tactical or well for injuries.
