A dessert? Not a cuss word?
Guyana and T&T have a host of Indian "desserts" to add, including: channa, pulowri, baiganjee, mittai, badam acha, pera, ghulam acha, chicken foot, etc.
"Sugar cakes" could be red, brown or white. Cassava pone is one of my favorites. Guava jelly could be really nice.
Guyana also has tamarind balls, fudge (white and brown), "ice block", flootie, etc.

A lot of those are more like snacks.

Would a caribbean fruit salad work or would that be too much potassium.

Know all a dem except black bitch - there are some variations in other countries in the region.
Pine tarts are very Guyanese, nuff sweet potato pudding in JA as well as toto with coconut and raisins.

Lead pipes and guava cheese.

That's the word I was looking for.
Bim gets the sahara dust, closest thing to a desert.
Due to hurricanes etc. We don't have any deserts to speak off. Oddly enough, Guyana has plenty cactus. Caribbean women who have sampled Guyanese cactus juice can confirm.
