And there are plenty of reasons why we have reached the nadir of the sport.

Look how low West Indies cricket has fallen.
Counting up: (1) When we can put a test batsman on a pedestal who averages 31 after 59 innings...and even recommending that he bats at #3. Like "a granny's G string" this reveals so much. Pure shit!!
Blackwood is now considered as our top batsman.

I think ESPN Cricinfo should shoulder all the blame.
How could they name Jermaine Blackwood, a struggling at best, West Indies player into their 2020 Test team of the year, when not a single India representative is named to said team?
Meanwhile, four Englishmen, Dominic Sibley, Ben Stokes, Jos Butler and Stuart Broad were selected. The eleven has two Pakistanis in Shan Masood and Babar Azam along with Australian spinner Nathan Lyon. The New Zealand trio of Kane Williamson, Tim Southee and Kyle Jamieson complete the team.
Blackwood makes ESPN Cricinfo's test team of the year
No wonder normally reasonable posters like Fuzzy appear to have gone off the deep end.
2. When some posters are attempting to make a case for the inclusion of the tried and tested shithound Powell and ignore Devon Smith's regional numbers. Both players are shits.
3. When we recruit baby whales to play test cricket for the West Indies.
4. A glorified tief is still a tief and a glorified shithound is still a shithound.
One or two good days does not turn a shithound into s glorified test batsman. We must learn to see the blackwood from the trees.
5. When we need to pack an office of welfare recipients to perform the tasks that was undertaken by one man - Steve Camacho. Jah bless his soul.
6. When our main strike bowlers can hardly bowl two balls near the same spot.
7. When a Selection Committee can leave out a promising fast bowler in Chemar Holder from the test team on the basis (and I am paraphrasing here) that Bangladesh is not an easy place for pace bowlers to perform, instead of putting young Holder thru hard grind to gain experience and to continue with his test cricket development.
Many People in this Forum quickly dismiss what I write in this Forum , they apparently have been brainwashed
by the Worst International Cricket
Board in the Commonwealth .
That is a freaking Fact , not fiction . Cricket in the Region aint going to
improve until or unless there is a
Total Restructuring of West Indies Cricket .
I have continuously stated this since
2003 , 18 freaking years , and there is absolutely no reason why I should
change my opinion .
In fact with every passing day , my
opinion with regard to West Indies
Cricket shines brighter .
In reply to Courtesy
I will challenge that one. I have seen them consistently bowl two or more balls in almost the same spot but not anywhere close to the stump to trouble the batsman ...

I have stated in this Forum on many
occasions that the main problem with
Cricket in the Region is the stark
freaking fact that the WICBC/CWI has been and is a complete Failure .
If WE want Cricket in the Region to
improve , ALL present Persons in the
WICBC/CWI Must be Removed . This is only one part of the problem .
Another Part of the Problem is that
there must be a Total Restructuring of Cricket in the Region . I believe
that having Players on the WICBC/CWI
would be helpful to West Indies Cricket .
HELL since its formation , those in
the governance of Cricket in the Region , persist in living in the 19th Century .
In those days those who were in the
governance of West Indies Cricket were Persons who had Estates , Businesses , and Professional People.
Our Players were not of the Money Class ; their job was only to play Cricket . In essence , there was a
visible , and invisible demarcation
between those who were in Charge of
Cricket and those who played Cricket.
In my opinion , it is this attitude ,
that has been , and is the downfall of West Indies Cricket . Worse yet I
get the impression that this demarcation aint going to change .
It would be remiss of me if I failed
to mention the Jokers in the Region who masquerade as Sports Journalists. They relish perpetually being the Stooges of the WICBC/CWI.
Their Job is to be only critical of
the Players . The WICBC/CWI in the eyes of these Stooges who masquerade
as Sports Journalists , have to bear
some responsibility for the current state of West Indies Cricket due to
the fact that their perspective is
that The Players are perpetually wrong ; and the WICBC is perpetually
Right .
It is a crying shame that in the West
West Indies , The only Real Cricket
Reporter is Michael Holding . ALL Others are Frauds masquerading as
Sports Journalists .
Obviously then the Collusion between the WICBC/CWI , and its Minions in the Sports Media perpetually have a
united front , regarding West Indies
Cricket .
It is this alliance that has ruined
West Indies Cricket . The stark fact
is that the WICBC , and its Satellite
Cricket Boards cannot always be right , yet their friends in the Media always go to bat for the WICBC .
Windies cricket has been on the decline for two decades., Ronnie is the last prolific batsman the region has produced... With that being said, people in authority have failed to build cricket sustainable structure. It started with not enough grass root programs and pitch enhancement to prepare our batsmen and bowlers to meet intl standards... many of our young people prefers basketball and football over cricket and nothing is being done to garner their cricket enthusiasm. our cricket will continue to decline, unless the region, starting with head of state(s) putting money into the sport and enforcing it as our legacy to young cricketers... CWI has to do more than managing tournaments and selection process. They needs to have workshop programs with our young players, who see cricket as an integral part of their culture to keep them excited about the sport..,

You are asking for miracles , that aint
going to happen , unless there is a New
and Total Restructuring of ALL Cricket
Boards in the Region .
I have absolutely no doubt that ALL
Other International Cricket Boards are
laughing at Our Cricket Board .
From a geographical perspective the
closest Country to Our Region is
England , where Our Players played
Cricket when not representing the
Region .
Find out who had the best Team and
Players in International Cricket , when England decided to limit Overseas Players playing Cricket in
England ???????
Find out what did the WICBC/CWI do to
ensure that Our Players skills were
not diminished .
Also find out who had the Best Players in the World , when it was
decided to curtail the many matches
that were played between the Test Matches .
In reply to Cricket_101
I cite those examples to illustrate
2 salient factors , the WICBC/CWI failed to understand the impact that
those decisions would have on the
competitiveness of Our Players .
The WICBC/CWI did nothing , It failed
at that juncture to have a Regional
Cricket League . That in my opinion
was and is an unpardonable mistake .
I do not recall hearing or reading any of the Frauds in the Region who
masquerade as Sports Journalists being critical of the WICBC/CWI .
In reply to Drapsey
It is very unfortunate that the only
Person in the Region who has the testicular Fortitude to be critical
of The WICBC/CWI is Michael Holding !!
To break this destructive cycle , I have come to the conclusion that Former Players Must be able to be on the WICBC/CWI .
This I fully expect will bring harmony and competitiveness in West
Indies Cricket . Obviously Our Players and Teams will be fully competitive in the International Cricket Arena .
I would like to read articles in this
Forum , and in my posts defending the
Worst International Cricket Board in
the Commonwealth .
What I write in this Forum aint a figment of my imagination . West Indies
Cricket needs to have a Total Restructuring if WE intend to be fully
competitive in International Cricket.
Sadly that is unlikely to happen , the
WICBC/CWI and its Satellite Cricket Boards really do not give a Damn about
West Indies Cricket .
Just imagine almost every year the WICBC/CWI Commission Reports , it gets the Reports , and nothing is done .

Who clutching blood. It is what it is. Might not look good but it is what it is. And there are always a few blackwoods in the forest.
And no one heralding a thing. Man cannot handle piccong so he starts thread after thread.
Even if we had all our players going Bangladesh, we would be surprised if our team beat them. Dais to show you how we all they way at the bottom. we bottom lickers in International cricket.
I am only interested in CPL cricket right now

You shouldn't be mentioning Holding when Blackwood's fortune is being discussed implicitly or otherwise.
In my opinion, Blackwood got dropped from the WI team after Holding's commentary on world-wide television describing the hearsay piece paraphrased below.
When a veteran WI player approached Blackwood with critique on his approach to batting, the response was, "A so me bat, man.". I said, paraphrased.
Blackwood never saw another game until he became the WI's first substitute batsman.

Why dont you look in the mirror, than after, wee what going on with Young cricketers in SVG.
Is there a structure for youngsters?
Can Ambris have a place to work 24/7 on his game, who are the development coaches in SVG?
Barbados have not had a world class batsman since Desmond Haynes, I've always put the blame on the BCA, and the contracted players, especially the Internationals..
Blacks the top shyt!

There needs to be a total break with
the Past , if the Goal is to improve
West Indies Cricket .
I have stated this ever since I came to
this Forum ; sadly many people support
the WICBC/CWI , perhaps they have been
brain washed .
Unfortunately , my take is that those
in the WICBC/CWI , and its Satellite
Cricket Boards , do not want to change .
Perhaps that is because those here and in the Region do not want to admit that they are on the wrong Track with regard to the Structure ,
and working of the WICBC/CWI .
THEY perhaps believe that one day magically , Our players will become
the Best in the World . However that
aint going to happen .
Our Players aint going to be fully
competitive until and unless those in
the governance of Cricket in the Region make serious Structural Changes in the WICBC/CWI and the
Regional Cricket Boards .
I joined this Forum on the 1st. of
January 2003 . The WICBC , and its Satellite Cricket Boards bluntly refuse to Change their Modus Operandi.
They have no need to change , because
they are supported by those in the
Region , who claim to be Sports Journalists , but in actuality are the Serfs of the WICBC/CWI .
Interestingly , the only person in
the Region whose comments in the
Media is worth reading , is Michael Holding a former West Indies Cricketer .
Most of the Others are not only Frauds , they are also Lackeys of the
WICBC /CWI . It seems that they are
devoid of the testicular fortitude to
be critical of those in the governance of West Indies Cricket .
Blackwood said words to that effect to the press

I am putting the blame on ALL Cricket
Boards in the Region . THEY have failed
to realize that the factors that made Our Players the Best in the World does not exist anymore .
Sadly the WICBC/CWI , and its Satellite
Boards bluntly refused to understand
that factors were put in place to
disrupt the competitiveness of Our Players .
Now as I have stated in this Forum for a very long time , the People in the WICBC/CWI either ignored what was
happening ; or were to Dumb to understand what was happening , and
take corrective measures .
When England decided to curtail the
number of Overseas Players playing
Cricket in England .
The WICBC/CWI DID NOTHING TO ENSURE
THE COMPETITIVENESS OF OUR PLAYERS .
IN INTERNATIONAL CRICKET .
They could have had a Regional League
at that juncture . The WICBC.CWI
did Nothing . That is a freaking undeniable Fact .
Then the International Cricket Conspirators decided to curtail the
many matches played between the Test
Matches . That was not an accident in
my opinion .
Let reinforce what I am stating , Which International Cricket Country
had the fastest Bowlers in the World , when the International Cricket Conspirators decided that pace bowlers could only bowl one Bouncer per over .
Some years ago Our Players played a
match against England , when other
Cricket Matches in England were cancelled .
Our Players played an Overseas cricket match , and the Country they
were playing that match had to in essence loan Players to play for Our
Team .
Now I defy You and others who think
like you to Factually rebut what I have stated here .
What I have stated above , are Freaking Facts not Fiction . This
is precisely why , there must be a
Total Restructuring of Cricket in the Region . I firmly believe that PLAYERS Must be on ALL Cricket Boards
in the Region including the WICBC/CWI .
I have come to the conclusion that
the People in the WICBC/CWI Relish
acting as Lords & Our Players their
Serfs .
They stupidly relish mimicing
those they who formed the WICBC ,and
were white . So WE have a classic case of current Members of the WICBC/CWI mimicing in every respect those who formed the WICBC .
IT IS THIS FREAKING ATTITUDE WHY WE
ARE AKIN TO RUNNING VERY FAST , BUT
FINDING OURSELVES IN THE SAME
FREAKING PLACE .
This is precisely why I believe that:
FORMER PLAYERS MUST BE ON ALL
CRICKET BOARDS IN THE REGION .
Unless this is done , WE aint going
to improve in International Cricket .
In reply to POINT
Boards in the Region .[/b] THEY have failed
to realize that the factors that made Our Players the Best in the World does not exist anymore
I 've been telling you that from the first time you joined the board.
We are a collective group of Islands, who enjoy cricket.
But two cricketers from various Islands, is far different from two different county players trying to make England, Australia, South Africa or India teams.
There is no Big Four in any other cricketing country, as you call Jamaica, T&T, Guyana and Barbados.
Until each Island has a structure that will make our players ready for the International arena, we will continue to these useless discussions, on players with 30 averages.
In reply to openning
I am fully aware that Our Team is made up of Players from different Islands , however the Big 4 , Jamaica ; Barbados ; Trinidad & Tobago & Guyana , are only interested in ensuring that their Players get on the Team .
Have you known of any Player in the
Islands I have cited above , who made
a century , and had a hard time getting back on the Team ????????
The stark freaking fact is that many
in this Forum believe that only their
Players should be on the West Indies
Team , this asinine thinking also
pervades in the Frauds in the Region
who masquerade as Sports Journalists , who only want Players from their
Countries to be on the Team .
This is a Freaking Factnot Fiction .
Unless this asinine attitude is stopped :
WE AINT GOING ANYWHERE IN
INTERNATIONAL CRICKET SADLY
MANY IN THE REGION REFUSE TO
ACKNOWLEDGE THIS FREAKING FACT.
As I have already stated here ,WE
are in essence running very fast
but finding Ourselves in the same
Freaking Place .
BUT APPARENTLY WE LOVE THE CURRENT
MODUS OPERANDI OF THE
JOKERS IN THE GOVERNANCE OF WEST
INDIES .
I simply want ALL Players to get a fair Opportunity to get on the Team .
If Devon Smith was from , Trinidad ;
Barbados ; Jamaica ; or Guyana , after he made his maiden century HE
would not have had any difficulty in
getting back on the Team . This is a
freaking Fact not Fiction .
But You did n't care because he aint from Barbados ; Those in Trinidad ,
Guyana , and Jamaica also did n't care either. Worse yet , The Worst
International Cricket Board in the
Commonwealth , also does not give a
Damn .
It is this freaking attitude why WE
aint going anywhere in International
Cricket . All I want is that ALL Players get equal Opportunities to
represent the West Indies .
In reply to POINT
That what County, shield and regional teams do, Barbados and the others Islands, don't prepare players from SVG for the West Indies, that's not how it works.
SVG is responsible for players development.
BTW, a number of players are benefitting from playing cricket within the BCA system, Hodge have played more cricket in the BCA system than for his Island, same goes for Currency and others,
Emmanuel Stewart is in his junior year at Cave Hill, and have been playing in the BCA system.
