That was a very good draw from a depleted India

One of the great fightbacks.

This is a tough team.

I was pleasantly surprised. A friend called me after Pant missed out on his well deserved ton and I said it was over and then when Pujara fell, I literally gave up.

That was amazing. There is nothing like test cricket.

And at no stage was it boring or already decided (except maybe the lat 2/3 overs on Day 5). The tension as a fan was almost unbearable.

Nice to see
Almost feels like yesteryear where it’s only dedicated serious cricketers concentrating and applying themselves
Was a solid performance

So far this is one of the great tours for India in my memory.

Over the series we have lost the Captain and our star bat (Kohli, after the first Test) did not have 2 frontline bowlers (Ishant, Bhuvneshwar) as they were injured before the series, lost two key bowlers halfway through (Shami, Yadav), and now an all rounder (Jadeja).

That's SIX of our A team gone, and if Vihari also goes it will SEVEN in the next Test.

Then, a fantastic backup player KL Rahul is also gone due to injury.

The performances speak volumes. we came back after that crazy humiliating 36 all out of the first Test to win the second. And get a fantastic rearguard action to get draw in the third when all the chips were down.

TWO bowlers were given their caps (Siraj, Saini), and now we're down to almost zero, but everyone showed up. India's pace bowling stocks are solid- who would have thought it?

So far it has been some series and I'm proud of how we've played.

You all behaving as though Australian doesn’t have a few new players in Wade, Pucovski and Green! Plus Warner is just coming back from injury! Starc hasn’t exactly been penetrating as of late. So, Australian is not an overwhelming favorite.

Mathew Wade made his Test debut in 2012.

Starc hasn’t exactly been penetrating as of late.

That's saying we lost because we didn't play well. So what?

Usually that's when you lose. And how you play, was influenced by the opposition in some way.

I agree. They fought like mongrels. If Pakistan fought in Australia the way India fought Australia today, they would have won a series there by now

A good solid test team has these trait:

1. Solid and capable bench strength
2. Multiple team leaders
3. Professional attitiude

India has all 3 and then some.

Notice of Siraj came in and he hardly looked like a debutant, this shoes hoe much improvement India's domestic structure has made over the years, that your bench strength can come in and perform right away

Leadership: Ashwin, Pujara, Rahane, Rohit - all (better)bleaders in the team, so they were able to meet the challenges despite the loss of the excellent batter Kohli.

Finally, India's test team is playing like the richest team in the history of cricket- the investment is professionalism, domestic structure reform and the ability to pay their top emerging talent excellent relevant wages are paying dividends.

If runners were allowed for injured players as was the case until relatively recently, India might have won...had to forgo many single runs and not able to convert ones to twos..
