Is it just me or does it seem that he drops a lot of catches?

Tim Paine
If a West Indian keeper did that...
i don't think he would be in this side if he was not the captain his batting is not special and his glovework is shaky
In reply to culpepperboy courtney browne dropped one and people still talk about it in barbados the infamous steve waugh drop very early on in his innings who went on to score a double ton

Frankly, Browne's drop of Waugh pretty much led to the ascension of Australia to the top of the Test heap and precipitated the decline of West Indies'.
On Paine, he appears to be a mediocre keeper and an even worse 'gentleman'.

That statement is an example of pure unadulterated hyperbole.
His focus is on mouthing sledges rather than holding edges

And here I was thinking you were one of the more intelligent posters on this site ...
From observation all the International teams W/keepers drop catches, Pant dropped a few also. Close to the wicket keeping is very challenging at the Test level.

True, but he dropped catches off of fast bowlers.

I've heard worse insults in the Backroom from other random people so *shrugs*.
When Oz beat WI in WI did they not become the #1 team in Tests?
Anyway this is about Paine, I wasn't the one who brought Browne into the discussion. Moving on.

How you could conclude that a simple dropped catch pretty much led to all of what is stated there boggles my mind. Surely you understand that a lot that happened before and after that dropped catch were much more significant contributing factors. Say that the dropped catch is symbolic of those things if you will, but it is a stretch of gargantuan proportions to attribute causation of those things to that drop

Brung also dropped the World Cup
When he drop....he make sure to drop BIG

how much Australia would have made if browne had not dropped waugh, who was on 42?

I don't know, but since we are asking hypothetical questions, how much would Browne have scored in the 2nd innings if he didn't run out of partners?
West Indies batted poorly in each innings and deserved to lose.
We were in decline for a long time.

Fair enough, and very eloquently said

Maybe when WI regains the Frank Worrell Trophy the bitterness towards Browne from many of us will fade away

But again, moving on. Screw Paine.
I remember Browne dropped Inzamam as well.
Anyway, I think Paine will stay as Captain until the next Ashes series. After that, Wade or Sam Whiteman could take the gloves, with Head, Cummins or Smith as Captain.

Paine is on borrowed time.

What triangle did was confused symptom with root cause.
