looks stylish and cock confident like...Rowe.How come England is turning out so many batting talents and we not producing nothing to light up test cricket on entrance to that level of play.
Seems like the English debutees have impact straight away.

You lived in England all these years, and not see the difference in development of players?
I expected Point to come with such a topic.
Have a look at how many teams he has played for and how many matches, and he is only 23 years.

Full name Daniel William Lawrence

Born July 12, 1997, Whipps Cross, Essex

Current age 23 years 187 days

Major teams England, Brisbane Heat, Deccan Gladiators, England Lions, England Under-19s, Essex, Essex 2nd XI, Essex Under-13s, Essex Under-14s, Essex Under-15s, Essex Under-17s, Marylebone Cricket Club

Hetmyer who is a year older has played 39 first class matches, to Lawrence 74.

Intetestingly the commentators were saying he had always shown huge talent from a young age but struggled to make runs with his county as they were producing terrible pitches at the time.
They then changed the county structure and brought in a new groundsman after which Lawrence shone.
A lessen here i think.

Back in the day, the Windies used to produce great groundsmen of local renown.

Just like our latter-day cricketers, it would appear our present groundsmen are of the same calibre.

and the thing is that we tend to do well on the better pitches in the Caribbean. It is almost an embarrassment that people like Hetmeyer have so little first class cricket under their belt. That is where you learn the trade. Maybe WI should consider having 2 first class seasons per year

Someone commented on Wes Hall saying, West Indies have groundmen, other countries have curator.
Have a look at the Outfield in Australia and New Zealand, and the patches on the out field in Sri Lanka.
As soon as as I saw that field, BCL grounds came to mind.
