WI vs Bang 3rd ODI
In reply to Norm
now they leave out DaSilva, when they were suppose to leave out Ambris or even Mohammed.
I don't think they know what they are doing.
In reply to methodic
Maybe they want to give someone else a chance to play. Yes, they are giving Hamilton a knock, and Harding.
West Indies: Sunil Ambris, Kjorn Ottley, Jahmar Hamilton (wk), Jason Mohammed (capt), Kyle Mayers, Nkrumah Bonner, Rovman Powell, Raymon Reifer, Keon Harding, Alzarri Joseph, Akeal Hosein
In reply to Norm
so why leave out Dasilva instead of Ambris. Ambris looks at his bat like a strange object.
In reply to methodic
DeSilva is the wicketkeeper / batsman
He failed in 2 innings
Hamilton is a wicketkeeper / batsman
So bringing in Hamilton for DeSilva is not surprising or unwarranted
What should they have done? Play DeSilva as a batsman when he hed scores of 9 and 5 in the 2 previous matches?
In reply to methodic
I don't know, but Ambris needs to deliver now, or it will look very bad for him.
In reply to imusic
True. Each player needs to be reminded that someone else is waiting to take their spot, if they don't justify keeping it.
Willow stream very stable today.
Anjum Chopra, the female commentator comes on screen. She seems to be a very pleasant lady, and very determined to do a good job. Good to see women making progress in this area.
Toss: WI win, and will bowl. "We're going try something different. DaSilva and McCarthy are out ..."
In reply to imusic
I can't see that as a good decision. You played him at 3, a spot usually reserved for your best player. So you must think highly of him. He failed, so did everyone else around him. If you are going to choose one player to drop from two or three, you are going to drop the done that you thought three days ago was the best!
In reply to methodic
It's all good for DaSilva, and other promising young players. They need to be reminded that they need to keep performing and improving.
Joseph bowling well, as usual. Here is one young man that motivates himself to keep performing and improving.
Harding too bowling well. Up to 136k, he is varying his pace. Short ball on leg easily pulled away behind square for 4 by Shanto, after bowling him a very good over before that.
Joseph to Tamim. Drives thru covers. Mohamed misfields and it keeps o running to the boundary for 4. Joseph is definitely not impressed with his skipper's fielding there.
21-1 in 5 overs.
In reply to Norm
so far Harding two overs the last balls has been struck for four. He has to concentrate through the overs.
Harding has a very nice action and an easy run up, bowling in the 130s which isnt bad, offering too many boundary balls though needs to work on that consistency, but looks good so far.
In reply to methodic
True. He looks good tho. I hope they keep giving him more exposure. Skied off Harding and Mohamed at deepish mid off could not hold on to a high chance that hit his fingers. Seems to me he reacted a bit too slowly.
26-1 in 6 overs.
Mayers comes on. His bowling has gone downhill in recent years, while his girth has been growing. His batting has improved significantly tho.
He doesn't seem to swing it anymore,
Decent first over.
30-1 in 7 overs.
Mayers around the wicket to Shanto. Raps him on the pad with a ball that is heading for the middle stump, and he is gone lbw!!! Very clever bowling.
38-2 in 8.4 overs.
Shakib in. Skies his first ball off a leading edge back to Mayers, who tries to jump for it but cannot get there. Wow.
Harding to Tamim. Rapped in front of middle leg. Appeal. "Not out" says the ump. WI review. Pitched outside leg. Not out, it is. Review lost, but it looked like a good call.
He is upset, and loses his control. 4, 2, 4 follow.
53-2.
Critical stage here. WI need another wicket now.
Mayers bowling with great control. H is bowling a middle to middle-leg line, with 3 fielders on the leg side between the bowler and square leg.
Alzari replaces Harding. Good change, I think. Allow Harding to cool down a bit.
Mayers continues. Still showing great control. End of another good over from him.
68-2 in 13 overs.
147-3 in 31 overs. Two wickets to Alzari, who has 3 more overs remaining.
In reply to Norm
McCarthy left out too.
Bangladesh can declare.
In reply to natty_forever
Tamim caught Hosein bowled Joseph 64
Can any of our guys get a half century?
In reply to mikesiva
The whole team hasn't reached 150 yet.
Akeal straying down leg to Mushfiqur.
Shakib looking vulnerable to Akeal, but not Mushy.
Harding returns. Good move against Mushy.
Straying down leg too, but seemed to be back on target at the end of the over.
Akeal finishes his quota of overs. 10-0-46-0.
Harding losing his control - again - under pressure. Two very wide "wides" in that over, which also had two very good deliveries in it.
In reply to Norm
Shakib gets his half century.
Reifer to bowl, over the wicket to Shakib. A ball going to middle-leg finds the inside edge of Shakib's bat, as he tries to turn it to the leg side. Bowled!!!
Replay shows the ball moved a bit in the air, then cut back the other way.
179-4 in 36.4 overs.
Mahmadullah in.
Mayers replaces Harding. Another good, tight over from Mayers.
186-4 in 38 overs.
Reifer again. Struggling with his line now, bowling around the wicket. Decent over, nevertheless.
190-4 in 39 overs.
Harding again. He bowls a couple of good balls per over, but lets the pressure off with ill directed deliveries.
Alzari back.
226-4 in 44 overs.
Harding again. Very wide down leg. Slower ball on off. SIX! Full toss on middle. 4!!!
Off side field set, and Harding is straying down leg. 14 off the over, the most expensive thus far.
We could be looking at 300 here if someone doesn't put a cramper on happy hour
Probably want to give him experience but mistake to bring Harding here...Mayers and Reifer are better bowlers at the death.
Batsmen on top. Field set deep and Joseph has to field to his own bowling.
5 runs off another superb over from Alzari.
Good over from Alzarri - 5 runs
Reifer to bowl.
Short outside off. Pull by Mush over mid wicket for SIX!!!
Good length on off and Mush skies it to Joseph, who takes a very good high catch at cover! Mushfiqur gone!!!
In reply to mikesiva
Here we are feeling good about the bowling. But in the back of our head we know we going struggle to make 150.
Well washappy.
Full toss outside off, as Reifer tries to hide it. Mahmadullah guides it over the keeper for 4 more!
262-5 in 47 overs.
Alzari into his last over, with 2 more to come.
End of another superb spell of bowling by Alzari!
10-0-48-2.
Reifer to bowl.
Impressive by Alzarri
Reifer completes his spell now.
10-0-61-2.
Not bad.
Harding to bowl the last over. Wow.
First ball: SIX or long off!!! Mahmadullah gets his 50 too, the fourth of this innings. First time ever for Bang.
Soumya run out by a brilliant throw by Akeal!!!
Six runs from Reifers last over...but Harding to bowl the last!
In reply to Norm
Rahim caught Joseph bowled Reifer 64
Another half century.
New batsman in. Ball on leg. Hit over the mid wicket field for 4!!!
On a length of off. Single.
SIX!!!
19 off the over. Not over yet. No ball!
Very bad decision to bowl Harding there. Mayers would have been a much better choice.
297-6 in 50 overs.
A bowling effort that started out commendably winds up being a poor effort.
In reply to Norm
Mahmudullah 62 not from 42 balls.
Good innings.
In reply to mikesiva
Fifties galore. WI batsmen still to get a single 50 in the entire series.
The captains handling of Harding left a lot to desire.
19 from Hardings last over + 3 more from overstep freehit
In reply to natty_forever
I agree. Why have him bowl that last over? That was a very poor decision. Jason Mohamed has done nothing to recommend himself as a captain here.
Mayers is a death bowler. Barbados would never bowl Harding in death overs.
How could Mohammed bowl a rookie on his debut the final over?
Mohammed makes Jason Holder look brilliant as a captain...Bangladesh only should score 250 to 260 here.
In reply to analyst-kid
He needs to bat his ass off now to justify even his selection in this team, let alone captain.
In reply to Norm
well.1st odi wondies score 122,2nd odi 148 = 270
297 is like epsom salts
Here endeth the international careers of McCarthy Ambris Mohammed and Bonner.
McCarthy confirmed...the other three have to make some big scores to show my statement as false. Bonner still in the test squad...a failure here might not justify any confidence though
In reply to shivnotout
You mean, WI should get to bat 2 times here?
In reply to analyst-kid
Both the bowling coach, captain and the few experience players was not around to talk to Harding and guide him, during his overs.
I am so disappointed in the entire CWI management group.
In reply to analyst-kid
Ambris has been quite a disappointment. I never expected much from the others.
In reply to Norm
Even when he had him bowl 5 overs on the trot. Removed Al after 3 and taking a wicket. KMT
In reply to Norm
how come Mayers nah finish e 10 overs?
Kyle Mayers7-0-34-1
and this wan did Keon Harding 10-0-88-0
In reply to natty_forever and shivnotout
I cannot think of any possible explanation for making Harding bowl 10, while Mayers bowled 7, at less than 5 per over.
Ottley and Ambris batting.
WI 1-0.
Pitched up just outside off. Ambris hits it over mod off for 4 runs.
6-0 in 1 over.
This already done
Mustafizur bowling outside off and getting some away swing. Bring his line a bit closer to off, and Ottley quickly obliges him with a reckless swing to edge it to the keeper!!!
WI 7-1 in 2 overs.
12-1 in 3 overs.
13-1 in 4 overs.
This cold Banks that I am sipping is good!
Saifudin to Bonner. Pitched up on off. Driven nicely thru covers for 4!
Full toss on off. Cut nicely thru the vacant slips for 4 more!!!
In reply to number09
Ottley out for one. One down.
23-1 in 5 overs. Bonner looking good.
Mustafizur to Ambris.
Over mid off again for 4!
Ambris rapped on middle and is gone lbw!!!! Did not move forward and just flailed his bat down at the last minute.
No surprises there.
WI 30-2.
Mayers in. Immediately swings wildly at a ball outside wide. And at another one!
Taskin Ahmed to bowl. 139.9 k first ball. Elbow jerking like crazy.
Full to Mayers. Eased forward of point for 4!
142 k, but that elbow is a big problem. Comms quiet about that, of course.
Mustafizur to Mayers. Driven sweetly thru the covers for 4!!!
Mustafizur has dismissed Ambris 3 out o3 innings in this series. The 1st and last were almost identical.
In reply to Norm
Ambris out for 13. Two down.
Mehidy comes on, to bowl to Mayers. A man at 1st slip only. Maiden.
Taskin again. Elbow not as bad now. No, he's pelting about a third of them.
WI 44-2 in 10 overs.
46-2 in 11 overs. Bonner seeing the ball and blocking well. Not batting with a straight bat against spin tho. He is looking really good against the pace.
Mehidy to Mayers. Pitched about leg and raps him on the back foot, playing back to a good length ball. Given out lbw! Mayers appeals. Gone!!!
WI 47-3.
Mayers already found out by Bang, who brought on Mehidy as soon as Mayers came in to bat.
In reply to Norm
Mayers out for 11. Three down.
that is the worst review I've ever seen. I have never seen a man more plumb
Mohamed in. Short leg put in place. Shakib will probably come on soon.
In reply to methodic
I have seen a few worse ones, in this very series.
In reply to NormHope springs in an eternal breast
Bonner swishing wildly at balls outside off now. Is he already losing his concentration?
In reply to goliath
Naw. We are just enjoying the game. We know who will win already.
In reply to Norm
And skinning his @#$%^&* teeth.
In reply to Norm I am looking to see what can be sieved out and taken forward to future games...and what should be discarded
In reply to goliath
There is a little bit, I think. Akeal Hosein, for example.
Bonner saved by the thinnest of edges! How did he miss that ball?
53-4 in 16 overs. Testing over from Shakib for Bonner there.
Bonner keeping the innings together well, up to this point.
In reply to goliath
I don't think Bonner thought he touched that
59-3 in 17 overs. Bonner 22*.
61-3 in 18 overs. Jason looking a little better against the spinners than Bonner.
63-3 in 19 overs. WI chooking chooking at the moment.
Mehidy 6-2-11-1.
66-3 in 20 overs. Bonner 24*.
Saifuddin back. Bang saving Mehidy for a second spell.
Bonner 25 up!!!!!!
In reply to Norm
Hang on for the draw, guys....
In reply to mikesiva
70-3 in 21 overs. Bonner 26*.
72-3 in 22 overs. Bonner 27*.
Mahmadullah comes on.
Long hop pulled to square leg for 4 by Mohamed!
79-3 in 23 overs. Bonner 28*, JM 17*.
Saifuddin back. Innocuous ball wide outside off. Mohamed cuts and edges behind to be caught. Just like that.
JMo gone for 17.
In reply to Norm
Jason out for 17. Four down.
Rovman in.
In reply to mikesiva
I don't know what to say.
SIX!!! Rovman off Saifuddin. Made it look easy.
89-4 in 24 overs. Bonner 29*.
Mahmudulluh struggling with his line.
93-4 in 25 overs. Bonner 31*.
Saifuddin again.
On off coming back a little, and flat-footed Bonner is bowled for 31!
WI 93-5 in 25.3 overs, and that 150 score looks distant again!
Hamilton in.
In reply to Norm
Bonner out for 31 from 66. Five down.
In reply to mikesiva
Bowled for 31, playing a nothing shot to a nothing ball? Not very inspiring.
In reply to mikesiva Bonners struggles come to a merciful end
Taskin to Powell. Full on leg. Whacked straight back for SIX!!!!
102-5 in 27 overs. Powell 15*.
Hamilton playing across balls on middle stump. An lbw must be coming up soon.
106-5 in 28 overs. Mosquitos causing a problem for the players sitting in the "dugout".
Rovman hits Taskit so hard and high, that must have gone over the moon!
What a humongous SIX!!!!!
113-5 in 29 overs. Rovman 24*.
Shakib down. Seems to have pulled a muscle in the groin area.
Pity 8t never happen in the first match.
In reply to natty_forever
Hahaha! Be nice!!!!
Shakib has to go off, but he is walking off.
116-5 in 30 overs.
Perfect launching pad for WI.
T20 time.
Mehidy back. Straight ball to Hamilton and he edges to the keeper, for 5.
117-6 in 30.4 overs.
Will the 150 barrier be beached today?
Reifer in.
118-6 in 31 overs. Rovman 27*.
yes 190 today
120-6 in 32 overs. Rovman 28*.
122-6 in 33 overs.
In reply to PM
They would need 68 in 17 overs now, or 4 per over from here. Still think it is on?
Short and pulled away to square leg for 4 by Rovman!
130-6 in 34 overs now.
132-6 in 35 overs. Rovman 36*.
137-6 in 36 overs. Rovman 39*.
Batsmen just getting batting practice now.
138-6 in 37 overs. Rovman 40*.
Mehidy 10-2-18-2.
141-6 in 38 overs. Rovman 42*, the highest individual WI score in this series.
147-6 in 39 overs. Powell 48*. Two milestones in sight now.
Four to Reifer, to long off! 150 up!
In reply to Norm
Finally!
In reply to mikesiva
Progress.
154-6 in 40 overs. Rovman 47*.
Rovman lbw to a part time bowler, for 47. There goes WI only hope for a 50 in this series.
In reply to Norm
Can we make 200?
In reply to mikesiva
If these two stay there.
Bang bowling players who never bowled in ODIs before.
Reifer 20*.
SIX!!! Alzari, straight back!
173-7 in 43 overs. Reifer 24*.
Alzari run out going for a second, and he is very unhappy.
174-8 in 43.1 overs.
Akeal in. Edges and is caught behind! Not sure if it carried to the keeper. Being reviewed by umps. Gone!
175-9 in 43.4 overs.
Harding in. He is better with the bat that many think.
177-9 in 44 overs. Reifer 26*.
Taskin to bowl.
Reifer caught & bowled, trying to pull a short ball!
All over.
Bang 2nd largest win over WI.
Reifer ran out the one man that was going get us over 200.
In reply to Norm
Thought we were trying to bat out the 50 overs.
In reply to natty_forever
Beyond us now, it seems.
Let us see if we could last 5 days in the Tests.
Okay, let's close this out.
Bangladesh swat aside woeful West Indies 3-0.
The End.
