West Indies must stop excuses and complaints

West Indies must stop excuses and complaints

It’s quite overwhelming now to continue hearing from the coaches and certain senior players on the West Indies (WI) team the constant chatter about the pitches in Bangladesh.
Before they left, while there, and no doubt after they return, we will be subject to the same vexatious excuses. Pitches have nothing to do with it: the team is either good enough or they’re not. How many times, the excuse of slow pitches or turning wickets and the Bangladeshi slow bowlers, have to be endured for us to get the picture.

I really can’t recall so many complaints being made before a series begins as I have heard for this particular tour of Bangladesh.

When this type of defence is put forward even before a ball is bowled then harm is being done to the confidence of the team.

they knew the pitches were going to be slow and they were going to face a lot of spin before they left the caribbean so that should not be used as a excuse .the real problem is the lack of application and technique we see in the caribbean batsmen have problems with bowlers who don't even spin the ball

They are setting the field for when they lose to Bangladesh that the pitch was the problem and not the talent.
These guys are like Trump sycophants. Plant the idea or excuse first and let it marinade so that the backlash will not be as heavy as it should be.

You are correct, so someone in CWI has to devise a plan to better prepare our batsmen to play spin and swing bowling. The way some of our batsmen get out to spin and swing is embarrassing.

Do these coaches even teach these guys anything?
If they did , it means these coaches know nothing about batting. Why else would WI batsmen keep getting out repeatedly executing the same stupid shots?

Who is the batting coach

Do the WI players have the talent to even compete at this level?

Bro,
to tell you the truth I doh even know.
I was just curious why our batsmen not learning or adjusting their techniques somehow to match the conditions under which they play.

A 10: 30 A.M start Wednesday February 3rd in Bangladesh is 11:30 P.M start Tuesday February 2nd in Florida (Eastern time).
Adjust accordingly for your time zone.

You have hit the nail on the head for sure.On a snowed in New York storm day, i was just watching the replay of the second ODI, most of the dismissals were more inline with comedy central that International batsmen. Can't wait for India versus England to watch some real cricket.

Am I reading this right?
At Test Level? A coach is supposed to teach 'Test' Batsmen..and bowlers, how to bowl...and bat.

If this is the case ,it underscores the sorry state of WI cricket.

Im not saying something new when I state that the neglect starts at the grass root level...the fact
that we can still win a youth world cup has to do with natural talent only...only.

Coaching and other integrated programmes are not in place to transition the fortunate young talents that
make it upstream...the rest is sadly predictable as demonstrated by years of cricketing decline to the
point of perpetual cricketing decadence.
