T 20 squad for Sri Lanka
In reply to Dukes
What about Russell?
In reply to Dukes
Bonner?
edwards?????
In reply to Dukes
I would replace Bonner with Rutherford!
But then we will probably have too many lefthanders!
In reply to StumpCam
i would only replace a fellow spectator with Rutherford. I would go for Bravo for Bonner. What about McCoy or McSween? or we not picking Mcs?
In reply to Dukes
If he's fit, Kesrick Williams should be in the squad.
Dw. Bravo & A. Russell too.
In reply to VoopsandOut
Saw some highlights of Rutherford in the T10, he looked really good!
When anybody names a team he or she can reasonably be asked to justify their selection.I am willing to engage in a meaningful debate on my team selections.Hope everybody else can justify their selections.
1Edwards-Fidel at 39 recently showed how quick, accurate and LETHAL he can be if called upon to bowl a very short spell i.e 2 over spells.
2.Sinclair has repeatedly shown in both the last CPL as well as this Super 50 Cup that he is a very economical right arm off spinner. In addition he is only 21 and his enthusiasm is INFECTIOUS.
Sinclair has bowled 27.3 overs with 2 maidens for 82 runs and 3 wickets.Hiseconomy rate is 2.98 runs per over.
In the CPL last year he bowled 14 overs for 61 runs and 5 wickets. His economy rate was 4.35 runs per over
HE IS 21 YEARS OLD.
TELL ME WHO IS BETTER!!!!!!!
In reply to Dukes
So you jettisoned all the Tallawahs from the squad Brandon King, Fabian Allen and Kesrick Williams ???
Yardies have to eat ah food too!!
In reply to Dukes
Narine missing from that squad.
In reply to StumpCam
Brandon King could force his way into the team with 2 good performances in addition to his 97.Fabian Allen has lost confidence and Kesrick has had fitness problems.
In reply to deanjones
I am skeptical about picking Narine in any WI team because of the uncertainty over his action.I get the impression that as soon as he is in any ICC sanctioned competition he is under intense scrutiny and he is uneasy about that.
In reply to Dukes
I am 100% with you on the Fidel Edwards pick. Coterell has lost much of his luster. Remember the name may still be able to sneak in.
In reply to Dukes
I think we need to look towards the future and expose our young prospects to international competition!
So my youthful WI T20 Squad would be
1. Lewis
2. King
3. Hetmyer
4. Pooran
5. Mayers
6. Pollard (Captain)
7. Rutherford
8. Allen
9. Hosein
10. Powell (VC)
11.Shepherd
12. Joseph
13. Bravo
14. Sinclair
In reply to Dukes
Nkrumah Bonner does not belong anywhere near a T20 team....neither West Indies nor franchise....
In reply to Dukes
Fabian Allen
Rovman Powell
I havent discarded DJ Bravo yet
In reply to StumpCam
I cant look to youth in a double World Cup year
Simmo opens
In reply to StumpCam
Rutherford-He has lost confidence with the bat and is manifestly unfit in the outfield
Allen-He has also lost confidence and has poor returns recently
Powell-He has made a few runs recently but his bowling has gone backwards
DJ Bravo-I am not feeling him at age 37 with injury problems and lollipop bowling
We need another Sammy-h Guyanese-Well OK
In reply to Dukes
Im not too sure about! I saw him played some well control strokes for sixes while remaining not out on a couple of occasions in Abu Dabhi!
In reply to Barry
As someone who is scrupulously fair, you would be delighted to hear that Kevin Sinclair had the most economical returns in the CPL which is a the T 20 format which we are currently discussing..He is also doing very well with a current economy rate of under 3 RPO in the ongoing Super 50.
In reply to StumpCam
U R correct in the T 10 but in his last CPL he was a disaster and in 2 subsequent T 20 matches last November he had scores of 0 and 1.
No issues with Sinclair I have been saying since last years CPL that he needs to be pushed on to see what he has.
I like the Fidel pick in principal. Part of our problem in white ball and in T20 is that we no longer have strike bowlers either of the quick or slow variety. Unless someone can come up with a better alternative then I quite understand the pick.
My only exclusion would be Bonner who struggle to get into the preferred top 5 in this format but really beacuse the squad lacks another genuine bowling option unless you add one and make it a squad of 15.
In reply to Dukes
i would go for Fidel's experience in the squad. i would not pick Brandon King at this time. He needs to rebuild his confidence first. if there is a tour match, he should definitely be on that team.
In reply to Dukes
I heard that Gayle and Russell are in the
squad.
In reply to Yadi
You heard it here?
14 man squad
Pollard
Lewis
Fletcher
Simmons
Hetmeyer
Pooran
Holder
Allen
Russell
Cotterell
Hosein
Joseph
Shepherd
Narine
In reply to imusic
What about Gayle, and Bigb?
In reply to openning
Surplus to requirements. Both great players though
Johnson Charles before King
In reply to Dukes I like your team!...I think that Fidel showed in the T10 that he may be the injection that has been lacking in our bowling attack so this is nice thinking out of the box. However, while it is valid to consider Bonner for ODIs, I think that for T20 I would play Russell/Powell...i.e. Russel first choice but Powell if he is "unavailable". The only other problem may be Sinclair as while he has been bowling well, he can't bat - would be nice if Narine was available but we all know that isn't going to happen so another option may be Fabian Allen.
In reply to newdread
Fair enough. Replace him with Rolston Chase.
1. Lewis
2. Simmons
3. Hety
4. Pooran
5. Russell
6. Pollard
7. Holder
8. Allen
9. Shepherd
10. Sinclair
11. McCoy
12. Cotterell
13. Hosein
14. Mayers
In reply to Dukes
Bonner?
In reply to StumpCam
King?
Heard a sound that Dwayne and Uni Boss is being considered.
What's with Kesrick Williams, is he injured or just a T/20 only bowler like Santokie was?
In reply to imusic
i with the musicman team. Good balance. Only criticism is that they are all power men. No one to just keep the score moving along if things get a bit tight.
You need a player like Mayers; a guy who could power hit and /or consolidate for 30 overs.
I like him Pollard and Rovman Powell coming in a row.
In reply to natty_forever
My team based on exposing youths to international competition in T20Is like other international teams do!

In reply to Dukes
PSL T20
Rutherford 26(27) 2x6 batting at No. 6 for Peshawar!
In reply to StumpCam
I don't agree with this team. King should be out. Fletcher or Simmons in his place. Young Bravo should be in place of Rutherford or Powell.
