Batting at number 3 and wicket keeping in test matches is huge pressure. Never known anybody to do it....Gilchrist fuh Australia did it but that was ODi matches. Yes he is class but dont burden him too much.

Let him stick to limited overs cricket until he's worked out that weakness.

I beg to defer Desmond Lewis played 3 Test matches. If the rationale is that Shai H. will keep wicket for 3 games in a series then I think it's not to much to ask, and you use Desmond Lewis as model. Asking Hope to keep wicket more long term and opening the batting then you are sacrificing his game - at that point like all the others that tried it; he to will also fail at one or more facets of his game.

In reply to TEMPER Recently, Sangakkara last test was at #3. In fact he has most runs scored as a number 3 batsman, and most times coming at 3 early after one of the openers were out. He opened the test 9 times, and batter #3 207 times. No, I am not from Asia or Asian descent.

Like most I would like Shai to return to the Test team
Having said the above, I would like him to work out playing genuine fast bowling and the short pitched delivers before returning to the Test team .
Shai will return to Test cricket and transform that incredible ODI batting average toTest cricket .This will not happen however if he still fears fast bowling and continues to hit bouncers with his eyes closed .
A one year County cricket will work miracle for him and WI cricket .
