Pan sees more in Hetty than Roger Harper and most CC posters.

To sit Steve Smith and play Hetty, CSK knows a lot more about the player, than CWI selectors.

Congrats

Norm 2021-04-10 14:47:32

Wait, Fuzzy said what? smile

Norm 2021-04-10 14:50:49

Darn. R. Ashwin taking a beating today!

Amir Mishra looking very good. Started pitching googlies on a line and length right from the beginning of his spell.

Curtis 2021-04-10 14:56:44

Delhi has instituted a 3 dahlpuri limit for game-eligible players, and that's reflected in today's team selection.

Dukes 2021-04-10 15:00:41

In reply to Curtis

Apparently the Hetty amendment says that the starting team is allowed 33 dahlpuris and since a couple of guys are allergic to dhalpuri Hetty was able to eat 6.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Norm 2021-04-10 15:06:37

Raina starts the season with a great flurry. Can he keep it up? He too looks like he was granted a dhal puri amendment.

Meanwhile, Dhawan is catching everything!

Curtis 2021-04-10 15:06:38

In reply to Dukes

Correct. If they find out, he sits next match. Players who score 50 or more get a puri and a ball stipend.

Norm 2021-04-10 15:13:18

D Bravo listed at No 9. Is this his last IPL season? Looks like he is playing as a bowler who could bat a bit now.

136-4 in 15. CSK might make 200 here.

Norm 2021-04-10 15:15:27

Raina run out. Pays the price for an extra pound or two!

Halliwell 2021-04-10 15:18:30

Hety being slotted in as a Polly at 6

All the Indians bats above in the order- not setting the guy up for success, with Smith in the wings

Halliwell 2021-04-10 15:19:04

Usain was never going to make that second

Norm 2021-04-10 15:22:46

In reply to Halliwell

He probably thought about snacks back in the dressing room! smile

Norm 2021-04-10 15:27:20

Currans are from Zimbabwe, I think. They probably know a bit of some language other than English.

Khaga 2021-04-10 15:38:37

In reply to Norm
Currans' dad Kevin represented Zimbabwe in the ODI world cups..

Thanks, Khaga. I think they speak plenty of Swahili in those parts.

IPL is good entertainment while the world gets vaccinated. Let's hope that the virus will be gone by next IPL.

Curtis 2021-04-10 16:14:17

Glad to see no in-person attendance.

No risk that someone from the crowd passes drink or food to players too. lol lol

Norm 2021-04-10 16:22:42

In reply to Curtis

Only the countries with idiot leaders (like USA, Mex and Brazil) seem to think in-person attendance is important.

Norm 2021-04-10 16:24:04

DC looking good, but things can change quickly

Norm 2021-04-10 16:27:10

Shaw placing the ball perfectly into the gaps, with just enough power, unlike Raina earlier.

Norm 2021-04-10 16:40:24

Moeen with more hair at the bottom of his head than at the top of it. Shaw seems to be losing his concentration now. Dropped in the deep off Moeen.

Norm 2021-04-10 16:48:44

Shaw dropped again in the deep off Moeen! Gets his 50 now!

Norm 2021-04-10 16:50:29

Dhawan gets his 50 too, with single off Thakur.

Norm 2021-04-10 17:04:53

136-0 in 13 overs. What a massacre!

Cricket_101 2021-04-11 00:37:43

Hetty played it safe today...
walked to the nonstriker end with bat and big smile; and walk-off without facing delivery and celebrated DC big win. Nice way to earn a buck...

Wait, Hety gets to decide his place in the batting order too?
Lots of hate for Hety, but we are a crab-in-barrel people when left to our own devices.

Ironically, we need to look to a foreign competition to see our best players in action and to be able to properly assess their skill level. Really smart we are!

Hety is responsible for his progress. No one pulling him down except himself. First and foremost, simply put it, if he doesn’t get his shyte together, he’ll be his own demise...

If he doesn't do well in this IPL, he will probably never get an IPL contract again. I don't see that happening tho.

I wish the young man the best, but he has be hungry for success, like any competitive athlete... Work on what needs to improve to sustain cricket employment...
