What was Shamarh Brooks thinking?

Yadi 2021-05-04 01:56:15

When he declined to go to Bangladesh.

He was put into the West Indies team on

TALENT. He didn't have great first numbers.

So, he was like in an N'Kruma Bonner situation.

Yadi 2021-05-04 01:58:45

Bonner has an extremely sound batting

technique but he is not extremely aggressive.

Brooks also has a very good batting technique.

Yadi 2021-05-04 02:01:48

Brooks scored a Test century very early

on in his career ...

Bonner has topscored or been in the top

three in almost every inning.

And he also has a match saving undefeated

century.

Yadi 2021-05-04 02:06:37

But N'Kruma Bonner is by no means an

established batting star. Now that he is

in the Test Arena, we can disregard his

lack of dominance at FC level. But only

if he continues to occupy the crease for

two or three sessions - and acts as a buffer

on which later more aggressive batsmen

can build.

Yadi 2021-05-04 02:08:11

If it is either Bonner or Brooks ...

Then Brooks is OUT.

Yadi 2021-05-04 02:11:30

It is unfortunate whatever is happening

with Shane Dowrich.

I can only wish him the best in

whichever way he wishes to proceed.

However, from a purely Cricket standpoint

Josh DaSilva showed up ....

Brooks has a young family and as far as I know, his young family (first and foremost like me) comes first.

I responded to what you wrote.

Think COVID-19 again before you roll your eyes. I do not like spoon-feeding anyone...

This is the fallout from not touring Bangladesh. Chase and Brooks would've been in the starting XI and would've likely play both test matches as incumbents, but others stepped in and played very well on debut.

Management probably thought this is an opportunity to really shake up status quo and instill our way of doing things.

Chase has been pretty ordinary over the last 2 years and seem to have been found out by pacer. I'm sure he's good enough to adjust but I really think its harsh for them to take away his central contract.

Chase and Brooks are good enough to force their way back in, even with Big Bravo in the wings. One or two injury would do it.

I agree with you.

Its your job, I once had a young family, young family had to eat and have a roof over their heads. Couldn't jeopardize the job.
