Two things
1. Benezir Bhutto was gorgeous
2. SL was in the midsts of a brutal civil war, but I don't think their fans behaved very badly. There was a bombing by LTTE people in Colombo and a few teams said they would not play in SL due to major safety concerns. I think the only craziness that happened was the riot at Eden Gardens when the fans in Kolkata realized India could not win the match and started throwing stuff on the field and burning seats in the stadium.

That torching of the stadium seats remains a black eye on the tournament to this day.

Sri Lanka for their part, a worthy winner of the tournament.
