100M for women just got hotter. Ms. Jackson in the house. Also see Kelly Ann Baptiste on the starting list. not sure why.. if she is trying to get pulled to a qualifying time?
No Akeem bloomfield, no Asafa.
No Sachin Dennis. he should just go to Bahrain and stop pretending

Jamaican National Trials
In reply to rudebway
JAAA has always been open to having other nationals at our trials to help them in any way possible and yes mostly to meet the Olympic qualifying standard and qualify for their nation. Hide this from PJ though
Tomorrow will be scorching, I expect a 10.7x clocking for the final, cant wait.
In reply to Brerzerk
lol.. i know.. and i think you know i know. anyway.. my thought was that Ahye would win at the trinidad trials, so Baptiste would have to chase somebody. sure she will get more competition in JA.
In reply to bedydread
yup 10.7 for sure. i love Shericka in the 100/200. you could always tell she wanted to do 200 but her coach said 400. she is in her prime, so go for it. Finals will be a cracker.. Elaine Shelly Shericka. the fight to the relay pool (Briania, Natasha, Kemba)
i liked how Kevona closed. the top end is still evident, but her start is abysmal. as i told my brethren, Ashanti Moore no ready fe the big leagues yet.
Elaine looks great!!

Co-sign, Blake looks like if a sub 10 still in those legs and Seville has more to come.

In reply to rudebway
Kevona pon di curve 4x100 or considering her 200m bonafides the back-straight?
In reply to rudebway
whe the certain man who watch a long-jump and declare how he is in a competitive mood for Olympics
In reply to Brerzerk
unfortunately, i dont think will will make the top 6. but in general, back-strait is where i would put Kevona.
i expect something like Briana to Shelly to Shericka to Elaine. Elaine's baton changes worry me so i would have her anchor.
In reply to rudebway
Now we're celebrating men who haven't gone under 10. Hope by Tokyo they're up there.
Shericka!!
and Oblique!!

In reply to Ewart
No more 'Wia' what's her name? Shericka!! Real transformation, was always a good 200 runner but increased muscle transfer her from Wia n to a 100m stalwart
In reply to Brerzerk
we were spoilt by the riches. Yohan lost his form in the last 15 meter or so. Happy for Seville.
In reply to Ewart
Shelly Ann Fraser Pryce 10.71
Shericka Jackson 10.82
Elaine Thompson Herah 10.84
Relay pool
Briana Williams
Natasha Morrison
Remona Burchell
In reply to rudebway
Janieve Russell won the 400m hurdles in 54.07.
Jaheel Hyde won the men's equivalent in 48.18.
The ladies look good. The men look poor.
The USA will sweep the medals in the male sprints.
What happened to the rest of the world in the male sprints? No Canadian or English (they usually benefit from some Jamaican blood).
In reply to nitro
you and a few other posters can start practicing the Star Spangled Banner
In reply to rudebway
that nitro backs everything from the U S of A and seems to reject anything Caribbean.. of course, I could be wrong but so me see it..

No Kemba in the pool???

In reply to hotarobin
From my posts on T&F that is what you gather? Seriously?
I cheer Jamaica but I am objective in my assessment. If i predict someone is going to win a race that makes me a cheer leader? SMDH.
In reply to rudebway
Jamaican women sprints and relays are top notch. The women look very ready.
Jamaican men sprints look like dog $hit. Sorry, but it is what it is. Hurdles for both men and women look very promising. I just hope they can fix whatever is ailing in the men's sprint department.
In reply to DukeStreet
she finished last in the finals. Not surprised really. i thought Morrison would beat Briana for 4th but not much of a surprise to me that Kemba didnt challenge. i expect more from my girl Kevona. this isnt champs. you cant have those horrible starts and compete.
you are correct about the men. they cant even get under 10. i am not sure they will make it out the first round of the relays. i see something along the line of Tracey to Forte to Seville to Blake. the usa would smoke us by about 15 meters. our 400 runners also look weak. we cant break 45.5. the US can can probably find a C team that could beat us . Bloomfield didnt run, Javon Francis is a spent force, Nathon Allen has regressed and Taylor hasn't improved.
the USA could do my grandmother to Cherry to Ross to Michael Norman and win.
In reply to rudebway
Tyquendo Tracey 10 flat
Yohan Blake 10.01
Oblique Seville 10.04
In reply to rudebway
True words. I'm really looking forward to watch the women's events and hurdles look very promising also.
In reply to rudebway
Yohan looked like he was fighting himself to get to the line

Happy to see 'Teacha' Hyde son back in business. Asked for him
on here not so long ago
In reply to Brerzerk
I remember.
It's good to see Jaheel back.
Tajay Gayle won the men's long jump while Frederick Dacres won the men's discus and Danielle Thomas Dodd the women's shot putt. All three will go to Tokyo.
Shanieka Ricketts won the women's triple jump with Kimberly Williams second. Both will be going to the Olympics.
Natoya Goule was the only woman to make the qualifying mark in the 800m.
In reply to mikesiva
big shocker... Omar Mcleod smashed the first hurdle. finished dead last. Levy, Damion Thomas and the ageless Hansel Parchment. wow.
megan Taper, who looks shorter than the hurdles won the womens finals. Danielle Williams 4th. Nugent 6th
Shelly Ann 21.79. she nah play. Sherika 21.82 Elaine 22.02... elaine gave her a hug. much better.. all three interviewed...all in great spirits...
SAFP is in very good form! She is the main threat in Tokyo as of now.
I read in a track and field group online that no Jamaican 400m man has made the Olympic standard and there will be none in the individual events for the Olympics. I find that hard to believe that none all season and at trials?
In reply to rudebway
Ppl. say both of them 'unfollowed' each other on Instagram.
But that could be because they're in different camps and want
to keep focused.
In reply to TriniStar
Shameful considering our rich history in the event. I remember a veteran either Mal Spence or LaBeach telling them they need to strengthen their core. McKinley, Rhoden, Wint, Cameron....and not one?
In reply to rudebway
It's a good thing McLeod is defending Olympic champion, and has posted fast times this season. He should still get picked, shouldn't he?
Danielle Williams coming fourth in the 100m hurdles is probably another matter....

Can't wait for the women's 200m in Tokyo. Jamaica will do very well. Also have to watch out for DAS, Miller-Uibo and even Prandini. She's also in beast mode.
You check out the 2 teenage Namibian female 400m runners? Both 49+ sec 400 times this year and one of them running 22 sec 200m but looks like she is holding back or somethin. Krazy stuff.
In reply to DukeStreet
both the women's 100m and the 200m should be very interesting..I am very impressed with Shericka Jackson..my eyes on her..
have to look up the Namibian runners..but outside on Knighton I am not looking for any youngsters to really feature as it takes consistency to really go far at the Olympics..
Look at Cambrea Sturgis..destroyed the NCAA 100m and 200m then I don't even think she made the Olympic team in either..
Thought I heard somewhere that Shaunie Miller-Uibo won't be at the Olympics
In reply to mikesiva
In reply to Brerzerk
think it's that she is not running the 400m only the 200m but I could be wrong..
In reply to hotarobin
Shericka Jackson is a woman with the heart of a lion.
