Fabian Allen is our best fielder since...?
Roger Harper.
Ask Lloyd why he insisted on Faoud Bacchus being in his team....
lots of good fielders came through the system....
when you are athletic you are fearless and many of our former players were..
Current player???.
I vote for Gayle followed by Cornboy..no laffing...
In reply to CITYBOY
...jus a lot a smoking!
In reply to Chrissy
Dwayne Bravo, but I think that guy in India is the best fielder in the world currently.
Spice man says Hayden Walsh is the best fieldee on the team .yes .even better than Allen
KIERON POLLARD is the best fielder I have ever seen,Fabian Allen will soon tek way that crown.
In reply to granite
Either you seeing red or you havent seen much cricket
no mention of Russell, we should separate outfielders from close up guys.
Pollard and Bravo, in their time, were phenomenal catchers. Allen might be best over the ground since Keith LTA.
In reply to Halliwell
Never saw Lloyd in the field but heard he was great. Would say the best since Keith.
Not even sure Keith would have pulled off that catch though.
In reply to camos
Thats why I said Jadeja is the best. He is great on the boundary and close to the wicket. I have not seen him in the slips, but his number of direct hit runouts is crazy.
In reply to Chrissy
Clive Lloyd.At cover point.
Lloyd, Harper, Marshall, Holding, Viv were great all-round fielders i.e. close in and outfield. Would like to see Allen in slips or gully one day too.
In reply to Chrissy
Logie.......was named Man of the Match for fielding..... against Pakistan.....much before Jonty Rhodes.....Logie was international fielding star...... unfortunately, due to lack of media coverages in those days...Logie, was livewire in the field...place him anywhere....be it short leg , square leg or boundary ropes......Allen also has physical resembles to Logie.....apart both being brilliant fielders......
In reply to Walco
maybe Chris Jordan enters the discussion as the best, excellent in the slips, close to the wicket , the outfield and taking catches while bowling.
In reply to Chrissy
I remember Logie was very good
In reply to tc1
Chrissy talkin bout our best fielder since ..., how does Chris Jorden get into the equation?
Dwayne Smith was fairly decent in the field..maybe not the best but very safe hands and often deterred quick singles..
Can you answer the question.
In reply to Drapsey
Walco introduce the international player to the discussion. that is how Chris got
into the quadratic equation.
Gus Logie or Keith Arthurton
In reply to Yamfoot
He's up there with our best
wasnt Jonathan Carter also pretty good in the field?
In reply to VoopsandOut
Yep- he's one of the real disappointments of his generation/ I expected him to be world class.

Good list dat
In reply to imusic
Good list, but I would add Dwayne Smith on the boundary. He was a good fielder everywhere, but I have seen him run out batsmen with direct hits from close to the boundary.
In reply to Walco
Yes. For sure. Edited
Thumbs up emoji
In reply to imusic
Did sheldon Gomes play for west indies or you meant Larry?
In reply to FuzzyWuzzy
Sheldon Gomes represented West Indies as emergency fieldsman on many occasions. In fact, it was normal custom for a West zindies home series to appoint an emergency fielder from the same territory they were playing in.
Sheldon Gomes was so good, that he was emergency fieldsman for West Indies in matches played outside of Trinidad.
I do not mean Larry Gomes.
In reply to imusic
And Sobers not on your list. Never seen a better fielder anywhere on a cricket field.
In reply to hubert
What about Collie Smith, I heard he was excellent.
Some of the best West Indian t20 fielders Ive seen are
Dwayne Bravo
Pollard
Russell
Dwayne Smith
Sammy
Simmons
Allen up there with a prime Dwayne bravo (I think he is the best of a fantastic lot)
In reply to tc1
Collis King?
The outfield: Jermaine Blockwood and Andre Russell.
no mention of Bernard Julien?
In reply to tc1
Yes he was but more of an outfielder as he was very quick..but unlike his two buddies,Kanhai and Sobers he
never served close to the bat perhaps he because he died young.
.All three were brilliant in the outfield and Rohan was also fleet footed
as a young man,but Rohan and Sobers gravitated to the slips with equal competence under Worrell's leadership.
Kanhai became a specialist slipper at 1st Slip pretty early, He was a wicketkeeper in early days but I suspect he
had some issues with his knee early on but he never let on if that was so.
When Lloyd came on the scene, there was less need for Sobers to patrol cover as Lloyd's electrifying fielding
was of the highest class with included Sheahan of OZ and the best of all,Colin Bland, the Rhodesian South African
who se the standard for Jonty Rhodes and Gibbs.
Lloyd became a wonderful slipper after injury curtailed his movements at cover/cover point especially.
Gibbs with those bucket hands was also a good close fielder.
Dwayne Smith was one of the safest pair of hands on the outfield..Atherton was very much like a hawk the way he scooped up the ball and shy it in one move..Smith was also good at that..
One of the catches I have ever seen was Vaspert Drakes plucking one out of the air in a WorldCup game vs Canada I believe..I remember the commentator saying that he totally misjudged it only to see drake throw it in the air..I will never forget that catch..
In reply to TheTrail
Blackwood covers great ground. But dont think Ill put him up there with some of the others
In reply to hubert
Sobers wasnt in my time. He was an older player when I saw him and wasnt among the top fieldsmen then
Blackwood not in that category
In reply to sudden
No mention of your coach Keith these guys cannot match his arm.
In reply to Chrissy

ALLEN has earned my respect to be elevated to that group.
Those three before ALLEN all met the GUS LOGIE standard.
In reply to tc1
You mean Fuzzy contemporary? Great arm, man. He was a bad man
In reply to hubert
