This list is clearly not in any particular order rankings else Best at 21 is a laugh
In reply to Jabari18
Top 25, and #24 is listed as from Granada
So I clicked out
Minimum standards

Huge question Mark?
Everard Gally Cummings???????
In reply to johndom90
Never saw him but my father was a huge fan of his
In reply to Jabari18
That 25 has a British bias. Gally's CV speaks for itself...MVP 73 Concacaf fiasco in Haiti.
Mexico Pro league., New York Cosmos/Nasl.
Leroy De Leon ( dilly) also missing.
Some of the names on that 25 makes me say WHO?/......who them.
In reply to Jabari18
Well other than stern john at 2.....no. They need to take away all the matches stern missed to the times he scored. Im sure he would be in a deficit. Latapy is defintely #2
In reply to johndom90
You mean where we scored five times and they disallowed all?
In reply to Jumpstart
and put 4-0 past Mexico..the undisputed Titans/
Skill Cole (JA) is a man that Gally admired immensely.
Lots of Carib Pros played in the NA soccer league in the 70's and did very well.
Most of them pioneers, paving the way for others.
They are not reflected in the British 25.
I was skeptical even before I saw who was selected because these things are usually done by people who ignore players from 50 years ago.I became even more unhappy when I saw Granada but I was comforted somewhat when I saw Lindy Delapenha listed among the best.
Anyone here ever seen or remember Vesper "Nuh Jester" Constantine, the St Lucian born, naturalized Jamaican who kept goal for JA in the late 60s early 70s. Was highly regarded by this poster.
In reply to CWWeekes
Vester is considered among Jamaica's greatest goalkeepers.
In reply to CWWeekes
I think he came from St Vincent.
In reply to JoeGrine
Heard Ewart talked about a guy from Port royal name Murphy.
I was extremely surprised to see Cornel Glenn on this list
In reply to Jabari18
what about Williams from Jamaica , over Ricardo Gardner?
Not sure who remember these 2 school boys Billy Griffiths and Allan Skill Cole.
I remember standing on the sidelines at Cornwall College, Jamaica, watching Billy Griffiths come out for the second half with his broken arm in a sling, an arm he broke in the first half against, I think it was St Georges College --- his skills to me were Pele - esk
the link below describes their football prowess better than i can

No Emmanuel Sanon
No Roy George
No Reynald Entingh
No Gally Cummings
No Steve David

Ruud Gullit
Frank Rijkaard
Edgar Davids
Bryan Roy
Jimmy Hasselbaink
And too many more to mention.
BS dat
In reply to imusic
I assume that if you did not represent a Caribbean country you could not make the list, hence no Barnes.
In reply to camos
That makes sense. Sterling would fall into that category
Bogus. It Jamaican centric. We need to make it Trini centric.

The goalkeepers whose name will always get mentioned as a Jamaican all-time great are:
1) Andre Blake
2) Orville Edwards
3) Selwyn Murphy
4) Vester Constantine
5) Warren Barrett
5) Donovan Ricketts
In reply to JoeGrine
You don't rate Dwayne Miller?
In reply to imusic
I agree
In reply to JoeGrine
What was that guy from STETHS, Wederburn?
For his accomplishments in one of the top 5 leagues in Europe and the top European competition Dwight Yorke is by far the best who played for a Caribbean team.
In reply to nitro
Skill wise the best I saw from the Caribbean is Russel Latapy. With ranking trinidad players I always put him above Yorke
In reply to nitro
Without a doubt..
Man was the most sought after footballer in the world at one time, played a big role in the treble with Man U,no one comes close..
Him and Lara were conquering the world at the time, great time to be a Trini, had many fun trips to London in those days.
In reply to Jabari18
Yeah Bari but Yorke was by far the most accomplished...Latas was a bit wutless..
In reply to bravos
No doubt Bravs. Yorkies accomplishments cannot be diminished. But watching Latas on the ball was something beautiful to see.
In reply to Jabari18
Style and skills are great but if skill was the only component of greatness then Ronaldinho would the GOAT.
In reply to Jabari18
Most famous in U.K is Dwight Yorke from Trinidad.Played for many teams ...Aston Villa Man U Blackburn Rovers and others.Once boyfriend of famous U.K topless big titted English model JORDAN who most of you peeps who are old men now used to peep at in Trini.Shame on you.Where is footie playboy Dwight now...back in Trini...ah dont know.We going back ah few years.
In reply to nitro
True. There was a trini player named Arnold Dwarika. He could play anywhere from striker to keeper. The most skilled of skilled players you can see. But wasted all his skill and talent.
In reply to JahJah
Yes, Miller is good but not in the class of those listed.
In reply to camos
Clive "Clivey" Wedderburn was an excellent high school goalkeeper. Truth be told he was one of my favorite.
In reply to JoeGrine I think he was Jamaica's keeper a few times?
Ah Jamaican fren tell meh Latapy became a complete footballer when he played in the Jamaican football league.
In reply to JoeGrine
Is he the one they called Spiderman?
In reply to nitro
yes!
In reply to camos
Ok, I hear the older guys talk about him a lot. Lenni Hyde and Skill Cole as well.
In reply to camos
He did keep for the senior national team, however, his best work was at the schoolboy level. I rate him in the top 5 schoolboy 'keepers I saw (or play against) in the 70s.
In reply to nitro
Is he the one they called Spiderman?
They called Wedderburn "Spiderman" and "Clivey". The "Spiderman" moniker seems to stick more with his Camperdown contemporary Carlton Williams.
In reply to Jabari18
What about Stern John at one time he was buzzing..he had the 'Stern Turn' ...
