Big up Kirani James
Well done. A man who overcame illness to still stand among the best in the world

A great athlete.
In reply to TyTy35
Kirani is one of the greatest athletes to ever come out of the English speaking Caribbean. A great example of self discipline and tenacity too.

Great athlete indeed
did Grenada and the Caribbean proud
Grenada has produced much for its size. Imagine both Grenada and Antigua have sent credible 4x4 teams to the Olympics
Respect to Kitani. 2 thumbs up emoji

Parchment???
In reply to Trinidave
Mcleod may the edge on him if you don't consider longevity. He's a World and Olympic champion.
In reply to Jumpstart
Nah. Crawfie would rank among T&T greats. Not Caribbean greats.
I see the conversation is no longer about congratulating Kirani James on his recent success. Typical in this forum

I see you included Kim collins. He has only won World Champs medals....never an olympic medal. Crawford has a gold at the olympics

Interestingly...Alleyne Francique from Grenada who placed 4th in the 400m in Athens in 2004 and is a former world indoor champ in the same event is Fred Kerley's coach.
My homeland's pet events seem to be 400m men and javelin men.
Was hoping for a medal for Anderson Peters in javelin...but it was not meant to be.
I know Lindon very well...I worked with his dad for many years...if you see his dad..you understand the genetic stock he comes from...and PARTLY why he has given such a good account of himself in such a gruelling event. The physical gifts are fine...but the guy is driven and disciplined too.
In reply to imusic
wasn't there a Trini who also sprang a surprise win in the javelin a few Olympics ago? or was it the Worlds? sorry if he was mentioned before I just typing the atheletes that coming to mind..
In reply to hotarobin
Bro how hard is for you to google Olympic Javelin champion from Trinidad? So you can get his name. Allyuh fellas sickening boy
In reply to problemjay
i just cuss you then revised it and decided not to..
In reply to hotarobin
But I bet in the end you did the smart thing and googled the Javelin thrower name. I am proud of you

Collins body of work far outstrips Crawfies, despite no Olympic medal
In reply to hotarobin
Similar to Crawford, a great for his country. Not at the Caribbean level

Keshorn Walcott
A great T&T javelin thrower. Kinda like a one hit wonder. We treasure him and his massive accomplishment nonetheless.
