there is space for 2 of the 3. My choice would be Hetty and Chase, but I would be surprised if Gayle is not in the final XI.

I would go Hettie and Gayle! In my opinion Chase is unproven and shouldn't have been selected!!! But I'm almost certain WI will go with Gayle and Chase and Hettie will have a hard time getting in due to "balance"!!!

Hetty and Gayle is a good choice. You are right about Chase he is unproven but he does add the extra bowling option. The last spot comes down to Hetty and Chase. Hetty is batting well and deserves to be in the XI for the first game.

Talking about losing respect, I don't hold Gayle to the same esteemed as I once did. First there was the Sarwan saga now it Sir Curtly.

Gayle, if we go by the captain's support of experienced players and the vice captains disclosure that Gayle is a 'special human being'.

When Chase has. T20 contract with any franchise outside of the CPL…any…..then MAYBE come back and chat about that.
Chase HAS NO PEDIGREE IN T20 CRICKET OUTSIDE OF ONE CPL SEASON.
Yet now Allyuh want to say there is not much between Hetmeyer, proven performer in the format, in demand at the highest level of the format, and Chase????

I am sure you know at some point all the stars were in Chase's position and went on to be stars.
Had your argument prevailed, where would your stars be?
In any event I see Hety playing as an outright batsman, whereas Chase is in an allrounder role.
I m o Chase will only play if they feel they need another spinner and or if the top order bats fail. Hety starts...not Gayle.

That would be the ideal XI but it'll never happen Lewis & Simmons are going to open no matter what & Gayle is going to bat at 3!!! What is going to be disappointing is watching them play an unproven Chase above Hettie just for his mediocre off spin!!!
