Another Cricket mess

Another humiliation for West Indies cricket hopes in 20/20 world cup.3 defeats in a row...and big ones.Bowled out for 55 runs by England.Cricket used to be for generations a big part of the culture of the peoples of the English spraking peoples of the Caribbean. Now look at us now.The laughing stock of world cricket. What went wrong isnt clear. But cricket now is dying in the islands.Nobody cares no more. The management and current players are quite frankly an embarrasment. And they know who they are.Causing me to flee into dee Backroom for a laugh.Sad.
big grin

Seems to me without a long discussion and details that those in management have become used to mediocrity and failure. And accept it as the norm and wont bring in changes.Professional sport isnt a charity. It is a business. And you need to be ruthless.I know of no other cricket country that would accept mediocrity and the poor results that have been happening in West Indies cricket for a generation since the mid 1990s.In football a different game yes but same principle.A trend of poor results and clubs in U.K and Europe SACK managers immediately. And I dont think the current bunch who run the game in West Indies are up to the job.And have a clue even what they are doing. The persistence of picking players who are too old is one obvious example stifling the emergence of young talent.

Cricket like any other sport in the Caribbean has to compete and make themselves attractive to the talented youth. This is the reality for some years now

POINT 2021-10-25 04:03:05

If WE want to be competitive in International Cricket the First thing
that MUST be done is

THE TOTAL REMOVAL OF THE WICBC FROM

THE GOVERNANCE OF CRICKET IN THE

REGION . ITS STEWARDSHIP OF WEST

INDIES CRICKET HAS BEEN , AND

CONTINUES TO BE ABYSMAL FOR MANY

DECADES .

Quite frankly , in Cricket WE are running very fast , but WE are still
in the same Place .

THIS IS AKIN TO TRYING TO SPIN A TOP

IN MUD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The People in the WICBC , have over
the years Bluntly refused to change
its Modus Operandi .

WE have been admonished that it is
foolish put new Wine in old Bottles .
It is therefore time to have a Total
Restructuring of the Governance of
Cricket in the Region .

Quite frankly We are trying to Spin a
Top in Mud , with the hope and expectation that it would Spin . That
will never ever be successful .

It is high time for the General Public to realize that that the
WICBC/CWI has been in the governance
of West Indies Cricket for many years
yet it bluntly refuses to change its
Modus Operandi ; or its Structure .

POINT 2021-10-25 04:22:19

In reply to TriniStar

It is in my opinion about the Structure
of West Indies Cricket that is the
main problem .

The Glory Days of West Indies Cricket ,
had absolutely NOTHING to do with the
WICBC . When not representing the Region ; most of Our Players were
employed ,playing Cricket in England .

When England decided to ban Overseas
Players from playing Cricket in England , the People in the governance of West Indies , did absolutely Nothing .

If the people in the WICBC were really interested in making our Players fully competitive in International Cricket , They would
have immediately have a Regional Cricket League .

History informs us that
THE PEOPLE IN THE WICBC DID NOTHING.
Thereby demonstrating their Total Incompetence .
