We needed someone to remind us that test cricket is not dead, and something that our youth should aim to play.
A solid innings at the top of the order is what we needed, well done.

you think Phil will drop him?
In reply to cricketfreak
Impossible.. his uncle is the head coach.. friends with the skipper and VC too.
Spot safe for the rest of the tournament..
In reply to anthonyp
he'll play until he wants to, or until uncle Phil is fired. whichever comes first
in to the record books now, well done young man
Lendl Simmons' innings is the joint-longest in terms of balls without a boundary in men's T20 World Cup. In terms of strike rate, only two players had a lower strike rate in a men's T20 World Cup innings after facing 30 or more balls.
16 in 14 overs.

Yuh dont want glue at this joke cricket...you go out and COWLASH AND SWING...hope fuh dee best...like U.S baseball.
In reply to Alan
yeah, but Simmons wants to play the Sri Lanka tests, so he's staking a claim here
Simmons played the anchor roll while the rest went after the bowling a bit too slow though and looked out of touch. What about the rest of the batters?
In reply to azadtnt
yeah he played well. MOM for sure.
The anchor role is often an underrated virtue in T20 cricket, Simmons showed us why it is important.
He really stabilised the top order
