na, lewis too young to be done

hes one of the few that goes through consistent patches, hes the perfect top order enforcer

dayne 2021-11-04 18:23:26

The WI is continually rebuilding, what will happen going forward is new faces will be in the team next time because it is time-up for most of the senior players. The WI need new thinking to their cricket, they have to start doing the little things better, more common sense batting, less swinging for the fence.

Narper 2021-11-04 18:38:00

Add Motie and maybe Hemraj

Holder too....but NOT cappo

Motie gotta wait his turn.. Allen and Hosein are left arm spinners.. hard for him to make the final squad ahead of them at the moment.. if they fail he will get his chance.

hand the team over to Pooran and Hety

thank Pollard, Gayle, Bravo, Russell, Bravo, Simmons, Rampaul for services offered

VINCYPOWA 2021-11-04 19:23:59

In reply to anthonyp

If you do not have McCoy in the starting 11, it means one of two things.

1. You know nothing about cricket
2. You have a clear territorial bias

Kay 2021-11-04 19:27:56

All alyuh forget Sinclair already?

dayne 2021-11-04 19:38:22

In reply to Kay

Sinclair, until he gets more variations will be forgotten, playing a few international matches exposed what he is lacking. Sinclair is a righthanded Pierre from Trinidad.

In reply to openning

What are you talking about? Russell and Pollard will be in the WT20 next year

anthonyp 2021-11-06 12:00:29

In reply to mikesiva

Shepherd?

Add Fletcher, Russell and Pollard to the bye bye list.

Need a regional t20 tournament asap... preferably with players U28 or so.

Pacy 2021-11-06 12:03:57

In reply to anthonyp

We need a good T20 Tournament for < 28 years like you said or we need changes to the CPL format to atleast a min of 3 local players below 28 years and less than 10 International matches.

There are very few options now.

mikesiva 2021-11-06 12:10:06

In reply to anthonyp

Russell bowled the final over that won us the match against Bangladesh.

Pollard hit a good 44 today, and should only be discarded if there are better players around.

There aren't.

Shepherd was the second highest wicket taker this CPL with 18. He deserves a run.

Barry 2021-11-06 12:12:41

Rebuild with holder lol lol cool lol lol cool cool cool cool

Overthrow 2021-11-06 12:14:19

Two names deserve some discussion Quinton Botswain and Javelle Glenn. Both play with passion and looked very good in the recent tournaments in the Caribbean.

natty_forever 2021-11-06 12:15:10

You would think. Yet them playing the same losers.

Pacy 2021-11-06 12:18:06

In reply to mikesiva

I would still have Pollard and Rusell around as an option for the WC 2022. But in the short term, I would select a team without them so the new guys can express and shoulder responsibility.

Jumpstart 2021-11-06 12:18:32

In reply to Overthrow

Javelle glenn did not even play a match for st lucia this year. I don't think you can accuse the current crop of not playing with passion. They delivered two world cups to the region. Some of them are clearly over the hill though

Young drakes however is a definite selection next. Not only is he pacey, he can bat as well

natty_forever 2021-11-06 12:20:23

In reply to Jumpstart

Simple. We need selectors as Lloyd stated, that know what to look for in selecting players.

natty_forever 2021-11-06 12:21:13

Also, Pooran is a better captain than Pollard.

Pacy 2021-11-06 12:24:03

In reply to Jumpstart

I really am curious about this kid. He did well with the bat but with the ball he was not as pacy as he was made out to be. May be I did not notice enough.

I am also curious to know how Kemo Paul is recovering. After his U19 exploits, I expected him to be the next Bravo for us but he just became very inconsistent. Hope he is improving

anthonyp 2021-11-06 12:25:11

In reply to mikesiva

Before this innings Pollard was averaging 12 with the bat across 4 or 5 T20 WC.. it hard to find another player who could better that?

Carlos once hit 4 sixes in a row and won us a WC.. where is him now? One decent over is all Russell gave us in this WC.. wham to all the other matches? Looked clueless with the bat in most of the matches.

Barry 2021-11-06 12:28:26

In reply to anthonyp

What we need is someone from the islands cool OECS shits twisted

Overthrow 2021-11-06 12:31:37

In reply to Pacy

Drakes in my opinion has shown skills beyond his years . Agree about his pace, he substitutes with guile. In 2021 made remarkable improvement from previous years.

natty_forever 2021-11-06 12:39:07

In reply to Pacy

Bravo influence had him bowling like that. Taking pace of the ball. We need to have these youngsters playing more 4 day cricket. If we had one or 2 proper batsmen who to tell.

natty_forever 2021-11-06 12:40:01

Drakes
O.Smith

2 for the future.

natty_forever 2021-11-06 12:47:53

Send off the over 35ers.
Let Pooran captain his young side next world cup.

sudden 2021-11-06 12:51:14

In reply to natty_forever

Bravo would make a good bowling coach. I hope he goes in that direction.

You are right about the batsmen: we need some

Pacy 2021-11-06 13:06:45

In reply to sudden

Bravo will turn everyone into a Slow bowlers

Jumpstart 2021-11-06 13:09:21

In reply to natty_forever

Lloyd have no room to talk about that.......the teams he selected were given some of the biggest beatings. Case in point, being battered by SA in the 2015 WC. And being battered by NZ in the same tournament.

sudden 2021-11-06 13:10:10

In reply to Jumpstart

And that absolves this debacle

mikelegend 2021-11-06 13:17:23

The coach and manager I’d like to see is IAN BISHOP. No one else. Ambi can help him out to bring some passion and pride.

Jumpstart 2021-11-06 13:22:10

In reply to sudden

No. The fact that bravo, pollard, gayle, lendl and dre russ have been integral members of two world cup winning teams does

Instead of cussing and carrying on, you should say thank you

sudden 2021-11-06 13:25:25

In reply to mikelegend

One of you better ideas but won’t happen.

If he does, it should be like that of a football coach, responsible for everything including selection of the team etc

sudden 2021-11-06 13:26:20

In reply to Jumpstart

You have done the most cussing and carrying on, pardna

I wonder why?

VoopsandOut 2021-11-06 13:56:34

I would say thank you and good bye to Gayle, Russell, Pollard, Bravo, Rampaul, Simmons .

For the future, I would give Hemraj a run before Kennar Lewis (who is a woeful keeper in my view) and Motie should definitely be in the mix. I say pick 16 men from now. Let them know what is expected of them wrt fitness levels from now to the next World Cup and lets get going. We can arrange Best v Best T20 matches right here in the Caribbean without needing our players to play franchise cricket. I would consider Bravo as an assistant coach/mentor for the next tournament and agree that we need to release Big Phil generally.
