Last ball, 2 to tie, 3 to win. watch what happen

USA needed 3 off the final delivery with Ali Khan on strike. Khan lets out a big heave which he completely misses. Non striker Rusty Theron runs for his life as he just about completes a bye run before wicket keeper Hamza Tariq dislodged the bails running in with the ball from his usual wicket keeping position. Within a second of dislodging the bails, the keeper rolls the ball carelessly on the pitch as he joined the bowler Jatinder Matharu and the rest of the Canada players to celebrate deliriously. A few of them then started chasing Matharu who is now on a victory lap. In the middle of this mayhem, Theron sets off for the second run

What does the law say?

"Law 20.1.2: The ball shall be considered to be dead when it is clear to the bowler's end umpire that the fielding side and both batters at the wicket have ceased to regard it as in play." From the video footage, it is visible that Theron set off for the second run as soon as the keeper rolled the ball on the pitch and set off for the celebrations.

lol

One where Canada had a brain-fart.

For anyone who cares, it's been a decent tournament to watch and thanks to Antigua for hosting the sides.

Super Overs seem to be the thing these days in limited overs tournaments *shrugs*

Personally I'd rather tied matches stay as is and let the super Over thing exist only in knockouts but hey.
