PHEW! Reid finally out of Jamaica College
In reply to Chrissy
Finally!
In reply to Chrissy
That saga is a crime in itself
In reply to hubert
Crime Stop (his Taylor Hall name) will be the new principal - he was a very good cricketer in his day and was always involved in matters education. He actually owns his own Quality Academy - great human being,
In reply to Chrissy
Good . Seems the ideal man for such a reputable and historic school.
Do thewy still have boarders ?
The Crook still benefitted from Jamaica's stupid labor laws.
In reply to nitro
The Labour Laws weren't written for criminals. They protect decent employees.
I do wonder about the settlement but I will find out.
In reply to hubert
Not to the best of my knowledge - I'll ask him.
In reply to hubert
Yeah JC is big on boarding!
In reply to XDFIX
Good. Thanks.
In reply to hubert
JC did away with boarding in the late 1960s early 1970s, but reintroduced it recently.
In reply to Chrissy
...But not yet in jail.

In reply to Ewart
True and word is that all this drama was to finesse the looting of the Ministry of Education for a nice settlement.
In reply to Ewart
$100M
In reply to Chrissy
what is the basis of a settlement ?
In reply to camos
He was still principal on leave to the Ministry of Education and even if guilty of criminality, it was not related to JC.
Sickening - never have tax payers dollars from the Ministry of Education been raided like they have been with this bunch - Marine Institute, HEART, School Feeding, and other units related to said ministry.
And the vast majority of them would not have made it to University without MMs policies.
In reply to Chrissy
Edwin Allen was raving mad when a mere two schools disappeared under the purview of State Minister Dr. Arthur Burt.
Look for Allen to be resurrected in full fury now.

In reply to Chrissy
I am trying to see the justification for $100 million settlement, normally people are transferred, if there is some disagreement with the ministry. What was his annual salary for them to settle for that sum?
In reply to camos
That is the figure I was given - I am suspicious that it is less but it will still anger most of us.
In reply to camos
The Crook probably got more than the great Bill Clarke got from BNS, a multi-national bank.
Jamaica's labor laws protect criminals and poor performing workers. Screw the businesses/organizations. No wonder customer service is so pathetic in this country.
In reply to nitro
Tek some time and examine the businesses yuh hear.
It is $23.3M for the five years. Hmmmmmmmm!
In reply to Chrissy
even that figure seems overly generous, he should get the present value of five years of earnings minus taxes and this only if he was working under a contract and not as a regular employee.
In reply to camos
$16M from the Ministry of Education.
No words.
In reply to Chrissy
I know you mad at me when I say it but these labor laws are generous.
