By nearly all performance metrics Neymar is an outlier for his age. Upper outlier!

It’s a little more complicated than that. But you got the second part right. It’s a question of style. The coach plays a German style of soccer that will not work for players like Neymar Messi and Mbappe. This coach has gone as far as he can.

But, Sham, Neymar has the ball in the box and shooting wide. I'm talking for his hype, he ought to have done better.

The idea of getting a bunch of superstars, sticking them in the team together, and expecting magic rarely works.

Neymar + Messi worked fine at Barca because Messi was the Master and Neywmar was the padawan. Everyone knew it. MSN worked becuase there's no overlap between Suarez and Messi and they are BFFs.

But now you have an ageing Messi coming in to a team with an extablished Neymar and an Mbappe would would rather be at Real Madrid -spit-. This Neymar has not really improved (overrated, probably, but still top footballer) since he left Barca and every time I watch PSG (rarely) I see him losing the ball trying to hot dog.

Pep will not fix this.

Anyways, these are dark days for Barca fans sad Soc culer

They did, with L M scoring.
But MCity dominated.

Totally agree with you tops. Neymar does have a tendency not to finish. I think the problem is an over abundance of talent. it’s like someone who’s got all the shots in the book but he cannot build an innings because he never can make up his mind which shot to play. Remember the early Agassi. He was all about showmanship but then he came back and had some tremendous success once he started to play tennis. Neymar should’ve been there already but he still hasn’t learned so in that respect I agree with you. But he is without a doubt the most talented player in the world today. Messi however will always be the stand out player because he knows how to harness his ability for maximum result.
About the PSG coach yes he believes in a German style very very fixed but soccer is a very fluid game and especially with stars he has. He is stifling their creativity
