HEADLINE: Positive COVID tests deprive WINDIES of batting flexibility heading into T20I series

When the West Indies team left the Caribbean, they did so with the knowledge that they would contest their T20I series against Pakistan without a handful of players, who are very much expected to be in the plans for the 2022 Australia-hosted T20 World Cup; including their injured captain Kieron Pollard, Shimron Hetmyer, Andre Russell, Evin Lewis, Fabian Allen and Obed McCoy (missing due to different reasons).

And the West Indies have been dealt yet another blow ahead of the start of the series; as Sheldon Cottrell, Roston Chase and Kyle Mayers have all return positive tests for COVID-19.

The unavailability of Chase and Mayers leaves the WINDIES bare of batting flexibility; not to mention, effectively paving a path for the struggling Hope to open, presumably, alongside King. Hope, when opening for the Barbados Royals in the 2021 season of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), scored just 46 runs in 4 innings at a strike rate of 112.

I believe this team will surprise a lot of people. The batting is not that bad as Shepherd, Smith and Drakes are not rabbits with the bat. The bowling in my opinion is also not bad at all with Smith, Motie, Drakes and Walsh in the line up. We shall see.

If this plays out the way I think it will, the future for WI cricket is looking good. My advice to the selectors is to find a way to keep Chanderpaul Hemraj and Rutherford in the mix as they are too talented to be ignored.

Not bad but are you going to ignore Brandon King?

I don't think so.

The vaccine doesn't prevent you from catching coronavirus.

It significantly reduces the risk of you becoming seriously ill and possibly dying from it.

Nine players out with covid on the Chicago Bulls....getting vaxxed significantly increases your chances of catching those variants..I don't care what you all think..BE SAFE THO

Honestly....i don't feel that strongly about his selection, I wouldn't be mad if he was omitted.

He's there for his experience and potential...what i wouldn't do is plan a team where am relying on him to contribute with the bat.

If he comes good great, if not...fine..he's a solid T20 bowler, an exceptional fielder, and he can hit the ball hard, its enough to make the team, just don't expect too much
