Theyre calling it the greatest Ashes bloodbath
The 24 balls that etched Scott Boland's name into Australia's Ashes folklore at the MCG
They also saw Boland become the winner of the Johnny Mullagh Medal for player of the match, a moment of resounding significance given Boland is just the second Indigenous Australian man to play Test cricket.
At 32 years old, Boland would have spent a long time dreaming of what his Test debut would have looked like. Even the most fanciful of those dreams couldn't have looked as good as this.
Remember the name

Same to you. See you keep the fire 🔥 burning.

Boland is not a kid and only discovered his connections with the Aborigine some 7 years ago. so that had no part in his development that would lead to this result.

England need to learn from the WI. Take your cutarse like a man. Say that you need to execute your plans better but that there were plenty positives eg chasing after the balls to the boundary showed how fit our players are, smile and move on. . Everyone has a bad day at the office. Remember 5-1 in 1975 for WI and look what happened after.

After the bloodbath comes the soul searching
It is at risk of becoming a metaphor for Brexit, deluded about its abilities and achievements, promoting itself as the envy of the world when it is not, and resentful of its critics. The world has moved on. Perhaps cricket lovers should do so too.

Get rid of Silverwood as coach, Tom Harrison should go as head of ECB and Giles should be treading carefully too.
Bring in Hesson or Moody as Head coach and bring back a selection committee.
Time to restructure the County game as well. 3 Divisions of 6 for FC Cricket, 10 games.
Keep the one day game as it is.

Bowen and James were significant sources for my own research.

This is as simpmlistic as the solutions being recommended to solve our problems.
Cricket in England and the Caribbean has been structurally adjusted.

Logistically, I'm sure it's a financial nightmare to organise tournaments in the Caribbean, whilst I don't like the Super50 being played in two or three host nations, I understand why it happens.
Regional retainers need adjusted, too many guys getting a regular wage while showing no improvement. I'd give contracts out based on performances from teams (15 for tournament winners, 10 for bottom placed side) and players meeting fitness requirements every 1/4 of the year.
Keeping an eye on the growth of the game in the USA and tapping into that market is something CWI should be looking at.
They should look at involving the USA in triangular ODI & T/20 Series when the likes of Ireland and Bangladesh tour the Caribbean.
A regular franchise or national side from USA and possibly Canada competing in domestic tournaments should be looked at by CWI.
Back to English cricket, I'd like to see the one-day knockout tournament return (Benson & Hedges Trophy back in the day) but that'll not happen, what has happened to English Cricket is greed has finally bitten it on the ass, there was no need for The Hundred.
Watching England getting thrashed like WI would is truly a disgrace.

You clearly dont understand the aboriginal experience in Australia. To your point, 7 years ago, Boland was 24/25. Dan Christian has struggled for the same reason.
