No room for Kemo Paul?

Jeremy 2022-01-28 00:39:18

Good squad. Hope kemo can get his bowling back on track.

They should have move on from bramble.

Hetmeyer should be the captian. He was a stand in cappo and he showed me he knows the job well.

sinclair was fast track. He did not perform to earn a spot. All he had going was a good back flick.

Beaton was ofically cleared couple days ago.. so he's free to fling again big grin

When he bowls without flinging he is gentle medium these days.

His cousin Junior Sinclair might leapfrog him soon.. he took 11 wickets in the second practice match and about 4 or 6 so far in the 3rd.

What was the reason given for changing from Jaguars to Harpy Eagles?
Harpy Eagles sound 'antimanish' big grin

Sanasie created Cricket Guyana Inc.. ah private entity that is separate from GCB.. Guyana Jaguars name is registered under that and all PCL monies used to go directly to CGI instead of GCB.

When this new board took over they couldn't access that money so they decided to come up with a new team name.. now the team is back under GCB control and CWI is finally releasing de players salaries and so on to GCB.

Ah think Sanasie dem still controlling CGI..

I too have this question, although my suggested conclusion is quite different from Narper's.

Did they finally get legal advice after pilfering a NFL team's old logo?

Perhaps the biggest question is why hasn't Hetmyer been elevated to captaincy of Guyana as yet?

WI_cricfan 2022-01-28 15:17:12

Wappen to the Jaguars?

The bigger question is why is Hetmyer in the team? The GCB had released a statement saying he left Guyana without permission to play in the Pakistan League and did not turn up to play the Guyana practice match. Since then, as far as I am aware, we have heard nothing else. Has this been swept under the carpet?

GCB did not release any statement...that was speculation heard by 83,000 square Miles

Harpy Eagle-The Most Majestic Bird Of Guyana
Often on the wish list of many birdwatchers, the Harpy Eagle can be found in the untouched canopies of the Kanuku Mountains and Iwokrama Rainforest. Pristine tropical rainforest is the perfect home for this majestic beauty as it offers them ample prey to feed. Along the coast, the magnificent bird can often be spotted near the village of Warapoka.

Faulkner, Hetmyer, Wood test Covid positive ahead of PSL

GCB unaware of Hetmyer PSL plans

By Sean Devers

Kaieteur News – India Today reported on Thursday that three foreign players of the Quetta Gladiators franchise, including Australian James Faulkner, West Indian Shimron Hetmyer and Luke Wood, had tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of their departure for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2022.
Guyanese trio of Sherfane Rutherford, Romario Shepherd and Shimron Hetmyer have been selected for the PSL.
According to sources who spoke to Kaiteur sports on Thursday night, the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) was unaware of Hetymer’s planned departure for Pakistan and added that up to yesterday he had not asked the GCB for any No Objections Contract (NOC).
The source said that while Rutherford had requested and gotten an NOC for the PSL, nobody in the GCB was unaware of Hetymer’s PSC plans including the selectors or that the left hander from Cumberland in Canje had tested positive for Covid.
The source added that is very serious breach and the GCB Executives would have planned a meeting on the matter yesterday.
It is also understood that Shepherd, the lone Guyanese in the West Indies T20 side to face England has also been selected for the PSL.
When contacted on Thursday night, Shepherd confirmed that he was also selected to play in the PSL but had not made a decision.
“I am committed to West Indies cricket but if I am not needed I might be available to play the last two matches in the PSL,” said the Tucber Park all-rounder.
The trio tested positive before reaching Pakistan and their arrival has been delayed as they have been placed in quarantine. In view of the rising cases of COVID-19 in the country, Pakistan Cricket Board on Wednesday announced that only 25 percent of spectators will be allowed to attend the Pakistan Super League matches in Karachi starting from January 27 and the tournament is set to climax with the final on February 27.
All three players will miss the first match for Quetta Gladiators in the seventh edition of the tournament against Peshawar Zalmi on January 28.
PCB Chief Operating Officer and PSL Tournament Director Salman Naseer said that he is expecting to see at least 15 per cent of fans for the PSL games in Karachi.
“As a responsible organisation, we completely understand our obligations in relation to health and safety of the fans and will leave no stone unturned in strictly implementing the NCOC guidelines. However, we will also require complete and unconditional support from the spectators so that they and others can continue to enjoy the matches in a safe and secure environment. This is something they can do by simply following the guidelines,” PSL Director Salman Naseer said.

nobody in the GCB was "unaware" of Hetymer’s PSC plans including the selectors or that the left hander from Cumberland in Canje had tested positive for Covid.

So they were "aware" mek it mek sense or tell Devers to edit his bs properly lol

On a serious note nothing was made of this and Hetmyer's in the team and seemingly still in Guyana.

In my own speculation Hettie was just going to play a couple games for Jason Roy while Roy was in Barbados playing for England so with Hettie getting Covid him and Roy will probably reach the same time so it didn't make sense for him to play PSL now.

Harpy Eagle-The Most Majestic Bird Of Guyana

Thanks, bobby! I hope the GCB and other Guyanese take this opportunity to highlight the beauty of Guyana's interior, and the challenges faced by them, such as issues related to deforestation caused by illegal mining. (That could quickly become political, but some happy middle ground could found, if enough thought is put into it!)

My personal favorite, is the very colorful cock of the rock

StumpCam 2022-01-29 10:56:52

I find it strange that people talk about this bird and that bird, yet no one acknowledges the national bird which is the Canje Pheasant
